I guess the silver bar of the D-Sonic would look odd with the gold hardware, so that makes sense.

Agreed on version 2 - the silver hardware is a better match for the JP shield inlays on the fretboard.

I'd love to try one of these out. Another of my guitar heroes is Trey Anastasio (Phish), and one of his main axes is made from koa...

I'd love to have one of those koa JPs. Hey BP and Dargin, can we price them so that my "economic stimulus" check will cover it? Please?
