Will the gold hardware kill this for a lefty? I'm putting together my Christmas wish list and need to know should treat myself big or save a little for the next year. :D

Chuck,

I think there's a worldwide shortage of left-handed wood :D

Looks great.

I will offer this with chrome hardware to forumites only in lefty

Oh, well. Me likey chrome much better than gold.

Maybe I'll just have to learn to play McCartney-style.... :D

...or just keep on adding to the BFR Bongo fund.

This LE promises to be another stunner...and another finish that looks WAY better in person (how do you guys keep on doing that, anyway?)

I too am a bigger fan of chrome than gold, but it just may set off this brown in a cool manner. I will reserve judgement until the final product is displayed. I am sure if it did not look good, it would not find it's way to the LE product.

IMHO gold can look really good in the right context, but in my experience it wears relatively quickly, leaving you with the underlying chrome showing through in places like the edges of knobs. That too can be a cool look if you're into it.

I don't know if that's just the gold-hardwared instrument I've owned, or if it's inherent in the process (I think it's inherent...I used to work at Tiffany's in NYC, and it was well known that the vermeil flatware [vermeil = gold-plated silver] showed wear very quickly).

BP and crew have shown us over and over that they've got good taste. I'm sure this will be a great looking package!

I have one bass with gold hardware. It's 25 years old and the hardware has maintained its finish pretty well. I'm looking forward to seeing full body pics of this package on a Bongo.

Same here but I've played my '06 LE Bongo almost exclusively for a year and the gold hardware still looks great.

Brown tolex case for this one? :D I think the LE cases are underappreciated...

I have a 25yr old bass with gold too. The company that makes these tuners uses a durable gold plating.

This new LE color is going to look great on a 2eq SR4...hopefully maple boards are available.

Personally, I think lead tuners get a bad rap. If you dip them in mercury they get all shiny, too.

Pb and Hg me, baby.
