I went to see him in 2007. I will truly miss him - I had always planned to go see him again. He was an extremely fun and entertaining guy. My wife and I had a blast. Incidentally, the food at the Iridium was FANTASTIC. Anyway, here is one of my favorite pics of the evening:

RIP Les Paul. My wife and I were watching the local news while we were eating dinner and they ran a news clips of when they interviewed him back in '06/'07 timeframe and he was showing the original multitracking setup he came up with, the infamous "log" guitar, etc. The interviewer asked him essentially what it was about still playing out at his age that he loved and he said "it gives me something to do besides just going to the bathroom!" What an awesome answer from a true innovator who just loved making and playing music.
