(Keep in mind that we're not 'average' retailers and our customer base is far from representative.)

I don't think Guitar Center is making wild-ass guesses at this point. If they are, then they need to hire me right quick like. I'm good at wild-ass guesses.

If someone from GC wants to weigh in and tell me that they are, in fact, making wild-ass guesses, I'll shut up, but I bet they're actually tracking the numbers.

Don't get me wrong - as a consumer, I'm 100 percent with you guys who want the green basses and the sparkles. I love those things. In fact, I think Sterling (deep in his heart) loves those kinds of things, too.

But if I were a brick and mortar guy, I'd look at what the vast majority of people want, over time, and I'd stock those things.

I really think that's what we're seeing. As always, I am willing to learn and change my mind if I'm way off.

I love you guys both as much as men can love each other...ok not that way totally but how the hell did this thread go from abe vigoda to one of criticizing GC and putting the onus on them and why do we blame anyone when certain colors sell better than others? If GC decides that green basses dont sell they are still only 20% of our biz intentionally...why arent we blaming the other 70% of our customers for not selling green instruments? Because ultimately the market decides......people vote with their dollars. dont over complicate...just realize that car dealers have 20 colors on the floor so they can sell the black ones or white ones... STOP THE MADNESS!!!!!!

Last time I checked BP 20% + 70% only added up to 90%.

Back to Dargin's bass....I wouldn't buy one in that shade of green for inventory even if I liked it personally (which I don't). I did want that Envy Green that Pete sold Wasabi last week though. Now that's a green I could live with!!

Well to be honest BP is you send a green bass anywhere it has to be to the land of rolling green hills and fields......it will blend in and disappear thus giving you sleep time again. I will even send you my address and shipping costs just so you can sleep - besides I will need something to do besides drinking malt whisky when my new daughter arrives and keeps me awake at night.

There you go BP if you want shot I will swap you a bottle of very very good malt whisky........and thats golden brown....

Green is a good colour....

If I had a 5-string version of Dargies bass, I wouldn't sell it for the world.

I really, really, really love green basses, and the greener the better. So, my fav is Kermit (totally unobtainable), second is the Dargin/Jack green (also unobtainable) and third is Envy Green, and I have one of those.

I don't know if my love for green basses has anything to do with the rarity, but somehow I think so. In fact, that is what made me get a Desert Gold Bongo. I thought: "That colour will never catch on, so I'll have it." I was wrong, so thank god for Envy Green.

Just look at it (yes again) and tell me it doesn't look good...
