Agree with all, but would add a missing ingredient to tone: the musician's skill/technique and ear, without which, we'd still be beating on hollow logs with the femur of a Wolly Mammoth.

SOMB... Blue is not a color for everyone. I have never owned a blue bass and doubt i ever will. Good on you for making the call. Why stick with something you will be unhappy with. JOSH

I think color is very important for anyone who earns there bread and butter on stage... After all I earn my money in a suit and I am VERY picky about the color of the tie I wear.
