Actually, it is electric and it is not a Tom Anderson - it's a PRS. Thanks guys, but I have started to come to my senses - my EVH will remain in my collection for the forseeable future. I constantly get bored with whatever gear I have and look for something new (despite the fact I've just bought a new PRS in the last month and have my Sil Spec newly repaired just about to be delivered). These desires for something new are a dangerous thing, but I'm constantly reminded on this forum of the dangers of selling something good - I've heard many of you guys regret that moment of weakness when you sold/traded something you should have kept. For that reason, and because I love it, I'll be keeping my EVH at least - I'll see how the Sil Special feels when it arrives before making a final decision on that one. Thanks to all for your advice,
Dave :)

Good choice... PRS guitars are a dime a dozen. EVH is a rare guitar that's no longer made.

My guess was a custom shop Wolfie ;)

Did you know that Tom Anderson used to take guitar lessons from my father?

Tom is really a class act and good guy. He was very helpful with getting us started with the Fadals. He is very open and loves contributing to the advancement of the guitar.

You know, with all the experiences of you, your father, etc... there should be a book to document all this. (maybe there already is?)
I find these little tidbits interesting. I'm sure there's tonnes of stories with just the signature artists alone!

I can't believe you were talking PRS! I expected to read about some exotic guitar!
I tried one because of all the hype. Needless to say I was very disappointed. Just like the LPs. It just didn't feel good to me.
I've never played an EVH but have an Axis. The Silo neck works better for me an is the one for me!

It's all a matter of taste - I personally love the wide fat PRS neck profile - it is currently my favourite type of neck. I love the EVH neck as well, but I go through phases where I like different things. I have a silo special and they are great guitars with very playable necks - I sometimes find them a little small for my taste as I like a bigger overall neck shape. If EBMM offered an arch top axis with one piece rosewood neck and a petrucci trem and piezo (with the controls situated like the Petrucci) I would take that over a PRS. As that is highly unlikely, I'll play both brands

I forgot to mention "matter of taste or preference" in my thread. Sorry, I didn't mean to offend you or anyone else's likes!
I am very fickle as well. I become obsessed one minute about one thing then turn 180 degrees and like another. I think it's just a general love in passion that creates these behaviours.
EBMM has a great variety in instruments, and I think as time moves forward, we will see even more things.
Things I would not be surprised to see would be are a set neck guitar.
I personally would LOVE the Petrucci with a maple fretboard and a single coil pickup between the humbuckers. For me, that would be the ultimate guitar!!!
Regardless, I'm quite happy with their existing line up! ;)

WOW...that's interesting. I always liked the TA I had, but, alas, there was this EBMM Pet that I tried and low and behold, I now have 3. It's always a matter of feel for me and the JP just felt better. So, I gave my TA to a good friend of mine and got sucked up into the addiction! Thanks BP.
