For example: Say there is a run of 200 Lime Green (just an eexample) basses in an LTD run. They are numbered 1/200, 2/200, 3/200, and so on. Does this effect the collectibility and worth? Like would 9/200 be of more collectibility then 127/200? Are the first 10 of the run more collectible. Is a 1/200 the only one that would be worth more?

Secondly,
In this lime green run several models/configurations are made. Say 50 bongos, 50 rays, 100 sterlings. Is that how the 200 would be tallied? Like if I buy a # 98/200 4 string Lime Green sterling is that 98 out of the total made or 98 out of 200 Lime Green Sterlings?

Sorry for the long post and thanks...

no boubt a doubt it :p
the dargie Delights will be collectable regardless of how you crunch the numbers. There are less than 300 pieces globally..... and heck, they've got Martini inlays!! :D

so yes, you should buy a couple.

Lime Green may have been a bad example, I was speaking in general, not of that specific run. They do look very classy w/ those inlays though...

No offense, but with the hypothetical presented here, the only answers of merit are "who knows," "maybe," and/or "probably."

How can anyone know in a limted numbered run how the numbering scheme is set up when it's a hypothetical?

Since, to my knowledge, there hasn't been a x/xxx run that crosses models, your guess is as good as anyone else's.

Well that was one of the questions, whether x/xxx runs crossed models, and I believe you are telling me that they don't. I will edit the post now. Thanks...

Good point, Mister Monkee.

The only model I can think of that was numbered was the Onyx Sterling.

Ok now I get it. In fact that was what confused me. I saw the Onyx at BC and one on ebay, not interested in one but I saw that they were numbered x/xxx. I thought from seeing that that all LTD's were numbered like that. That was why I was asking to begin with. Now I know that the numbering scheme is for the Onyx sterling run only.

Gotcha  ...

Why are you trying to be so argumentative? You could simply ask the question without the sarcastic comments and rolleyes and you will still get a constructive answer.

The answer is, that the limited editions come with a special case, the limited edition logo on the back, a colour/option not available on the production line, and is only oderable for a certain time period.

Actually he was refering to you needing the decaf. A constructicve answer to your question of what makes a limited edition limited. What you posted before doesn't sound like a joke, it sounds like you being an ass. Instead of phrasing your question like you did, you could have just asked: What is limited about the limited editions? See how much nicer it sounds that way?

I apologize if that wasn't your intent, but that was quite clearly how it came off.

Yeah, it does sound much nicer that way. WOW!!!
Well, I guess one needs a sense of humor to recognize a joke,
but anyway, thank you for the deep answer. I can see you're an expert on being limited.
No harm done, just don't be so negative. I'll take the decaf and you will relax, Okay.
BTW, are you a teacher or something?
