Any opinions on popular colours for Majesty's (and other EBMM's) that would likely fetch a decent price if resold?

There's some quite vivid and varied colours on offer over the years but I am not sure how popular some might be if trying to find a buyer. It's a relatively niche market guitar ( and it's not inexpensive!) but wondering what finishes tend to be popular?

(this all assuming I ever manage to get to a point where I want to sell one....!:):D

Make an interesting forum poll perhaps.

From what I’ve seen, the sparkle BFR’s resell easily. Especially gold and purple.

Azzurro, Enchanted Forest, Smoked Pearl and (obviously) Tiger Eye and Nebula.

^ interesting.
And what do you think of your own Dargie Majesty? Photos of it vary a lot - sometimes looks very light gold, sometimes green....

In order to fully appreciate an EBMM finish you'll have to see it in person. Stage lights will accentuate the brighter side of the finish whereas a normal room lighting the darker/deeper instead. Some typical examples are the Monarchy line, the Red Phoenix, the Mystic Dream and the Dargie Delight 3.

^ just noticed your inventory of Majesty's....

Are you sure you don't need another one?:D Very nice.

So how do you feel the the Dargie sits amongst them? A favourite? It seems to be a colour EBMM use quite often which suggests its a popular choice?
Yeah it's all about personal preference and I am sure you are right about different light and hands-on.
Some of the sparkles a bit too sparkly for me and I am trying to avoid another Stealth. Preference for satin painted neck and black hardware.

I've bought quite a few JPs throughout the years. At the moment, I have only the ones I absolutely like. It took me a while to discover my taste and I can can now say that I know exactly what I want.

The Dargie 3 to me is like a stealth fighter jet. Beautiful in its plain and simple looks. Stealth colour, satin feel, black hardware. Ready for deployment =D

Agreed. Have been trying to decide for a while and the colour defies photography often looking very yellow gold buts it's actually not and rather unique. Was literally 50/50 love/hate. It's love.
Just need to drop to 009s and set the thing up to suit.

So very much enjoying the Dargie 3 but what's the deal with the polished fretboard? Is it lacquered (poly) or just polished? Pros & cons? Does it help with humidity control and prevent fret sprout maybe?
And EBMM dont do this anymore?

I've been buying and selling guitars for almost 30 years. I love EBMM's but they do not hold their value used. If you're looking to buy based on re-sale value - you're looking the wrong way, -just assume you'd take the hit and buy the colour that makes you smile. - in the 90's there was a study around retail sales of instruments I was involved in. Red black and sunburst were the most popular colours, but that wasn't yesterday - now there are so many variations, it's what someone who wants "that" colour is prepared to pay.

Hope this helps you out.

^ Fair comment. And I did having bought the Dargie. A unique and interesting colour. All the rest of my collection are black - just had to brake the mould!

It's not gold indeed, it's definitely on the green side of the spectrum but with intense stage light on it, it can assume the golden shade.

The fretboatd is just polished. Crystal-glassy looks!!

bit Off Topic - but a couple of quick questions relating to this new beauty....

1) How can I raise the height of the entire (neck) pickup? It seems a bit low.

2) Back of neck feels a little "sticky" - BNIB - not ex-demo or display - clean with? Damp cloth?

3) And the bridge saddles grub screws are 1.5mm?

1. There are two screws on the sides of the pickup. Screw/Unscrew to adjust the height.

2. A polish cloth is just fine.

3. I don't know the size, sorry.
