I guess I'll be the first to say it- I'm not really digging that last picture. The idea of a JP with some kind of pick guard or whatever that's going to turn out to be is really unappealing to me aesthetically. I know we haven't seen the whole thing yet, and it's going to be radically different, but now it's like black and blue on the front and supposedly white on the back of the neck from that one picture and a game changer in it? Just seems like a Frankenstein of a guitar at this point.

That first picture I quoted has that tone/volume/something knob in a VERY odd place. Did anyone else notice that? Look how close it is to the edge of the body in conjunction with the input jack...It'll be interesting for sure.

I think we've seen at least 3 different guitars at this point: Blue/Carbon Fiber, Flat Black/Carbon Fiber, and a white one JP was playing in the FB photo. Re: the carbon fiber on blue, it looks more like the raised center line of the Armada in carbon fiber, not a pickguard.
 
Here comes the bashing haha. If you take a look a the FIRST JP model, the piezo blend knob is WAYYYY back there already. If you looked at it from the same angle as that shot was taken, I'm sure you would see something quite similar.

If you look closely at the opaque/flat black images, you see hints of the "carbon fiber" in there as well.

The process of designing this thing and making it come to life must be absolutely exhilarating. I hope one day I will be able to be part of some kind of project like that.

Exactamundo! Remember there were about 50 prototypes in all. Lots of scope to try different paints and colours. Photos we've seen here are from just a small number, and not all the same guitar. The all-black one I've seen in photos is very sexy indeed!

Yeah....wait to see the full guitar before "bashing" things. Those are the "close it down" comments. You don't like it based on 10 pics...cool...carry on and leave it at that. These torture pics are a first look that we are priviledged to see. Yes, PRIVILEDGED, to see. So, sit back, and wait for the whole deal before basing things on 10 small snippets.

May I politely suggest waiting until the whole design is revealed (and actually getting a chance to play one) before passing judgement? We have seen parts, but not the whole. Some people's knee jerk response is to reject any design that doesn't conform to previous expectations. This may turn out to be revolutionary ... consider having an open mind.

JP, BP, and the EBMM team have brought forth incredibly innovative designs in the past; unless I play one and feel differently, I have no reason to expect this to be any different.
 
OK I do not see where Systems was bashing it, he just stated that he did not dig a particular picture. That is not bashing just stating his opinion about that may not be his cup of tea.

Never did he say it sucked, was failed or anything overtly negative, so guys relax por favor.

I look forward to the whole revel and have no comment until then.
 
^ Yeah exactly, and the guitarists of System play EBMM Exclusively if I'm not mistaken. It's not like he said it sucked, he's just skeptical about it, as I am since I'm considering buying this myself if it appeals to me vs another BFR 6.

No one's bashing anything lol.
 
Duhhhhhh I should have pointed out that it has been three guitars. I thought it was totally obvious. Keith stop modding.
Everybody relax I totally expect differing opinions. Especially this guitar. Btw as I have said the game changer in this only is serving as a super fast switching system.

Very interesting- I wonder if it's going to work in a midi-esque way, like being able to assign pickup positions to patches, etc.

BP,

If the Game Changer is only being used in this new JP model for its super fast switching and not the near-infinite voicings, what advantages does the fast switching have over the previous JP models or a traditionally wired guitar?

Cleaner sound with higher output would be a given. I can't imagine JP wanting something that doesn't improve tone.
 
Think of the Game Changer in this recent prototype as just that - another prototype. What will finally go into production and hit the stores may not be decided yet.
 
no jp wants less delay in the switching...as Ive said that gamechanger features will be doled out over a long period of time...THis is a separate topic but the cliff notes are this regarding the gamechanger....I knowingly gave the public everything knowing that it was too mcuh...we have been improving performance, interface and adding additional control and connectivity features non stop....with technology and guitars you have to intoduce this gradually.

but back to JP this guitar is about ergonomics, sopund balance and performance....its never just about tone....that is almost the easy part!
 
Because I never play on a Game Changer, I just can't imagine how fast the switching must be, but for sure, 2 milliseconds totally impress me.
