This is the second time I will say this: If the good folks @ EBMM ever release a maple board Bongo, I'll buy one!

The main reason I would say is because the bongo totally kicks ass the way it is.

To me the fretboard wood is like parsley. It's just for looks.

Gimme a maple board Bongo!:D

This question has been raised on the forum before. My recollection was that BP, Dudley, the EBMM crew and the BMW crew tried lots of different stuff for the Bongo and one of those things of lots of different stuff was a maple fretboard and it just didn't fly. I think there was mention of it not sounding as good compared to rosewood.

It would be interesting to get a maple board done up to compare but, alas, I am not a luthier.

None and that's why I'm asking for an option that I like.

You really should try one that exists before asking for a different one.

Bongos speak well in the world of bass.

A maple neck would not make it louder, better or uglier.

Am I the only one who thinks a maple board Bongo would just look kind of weird at this point?

Not that I don't support your needs, jefe. I'm all about people getting what they want, unless it involves agrarian reform.

Does anybody remember the rendering somebody did of a natural bodied Bongo? Gonna try a search. I thought it was a little odd but then again, I've gotten used to the solid paint finishes and come to expect it. Sort of like wood panels on cars. Just doesn't seem right to me.

To be honest, I don't know what I'd think of a Maple FB on a Bongo, but I'm glad I don't have the extra option...got enough GAS pains as it is!

I remember when Musician's friend pictured Bongos in the catalog. Does that count?
