Dammit, I've been ignoring everyone's posts about markbass because I thought the enhance nob on my Eden rigs got the job done (with a minor bass boost/mid. cut/and slight touch of high boost), but now I really want to try the markbass stuff. What with the extra filter nob.

Granted, I've thought MB stuff looked a little strange on the surface, but since I finally grew to accepted the bongo, who am I to judge by looks.

Too bad I'm stuck in korea and won't be able to play any markbass stuff for a while, but I am visiting my wife in Venice for a few weeks next year, so hopefully I'll be able to hit up some stores while in Italy!

We're trying to find distribution in Korea at the moment. Not sure when we'll have that together, but we're working on it.
You will obviously find no shortage of Markbass in Italy, it's the number one amp over there!

Cheers,
Peter

Welcome Peter, make yourself at home and have some fun here. I'm a big fan of your amps and my guy at the GSO GC says he'll get my LittleMark in next week.

You've seen my older Club 450 over ar the pit, what would be considered a "flat" setting on the mid's section?

If you guys ever run out of bass players to sell your amps to, hit the keyboard market with them, I use mine for keys and it is the best keyboard rig I own. For the record I own almost everything out there. :D

Again welcome!

On the semi-parametric mids, the bottom knobs select the frequency to be boosted or cut, and above them are the knobs that determine the amount of boost or cut (up to 16dB either way). So 12 o'clock is flat for those knobs.

We're hearing a lot of keyboardists that are digging Markbass amps! I think it's likely we will do something for keyboardists but I can't say when. The bass market is keeping the company very busy right now!

Thanks,
Peter

So you play bass? Cool! What basses you got?

Uh oh, I was worried someone would ask that... I love MusicMans but have never owned one. I would love to get one. I would want a 5-string but I'm not sure what variety of MusicMan would be the one for me. I'm sure you guys can educate me on the differences between Sterlings, Stingrays, Bongos, etc...?

My main bass is a G. Gould GGJ-5 custom made for me by Geoff Gould in San Francisco. It's a beautiful bass, very even with a beautiful tone. I have Seymour Duncan active soapbars in it. I also have a '71 Precision and a Warwick Streamer but I don't play them much.

Cheers,
Peter

Hello Peter,

Glad you are here. I am really looking forward to trying some of your product in Nashville this week. Indy did not have it the last time I was in so it is off to Nashville. I cannot remember the last time I have seen this much excitement about an amp.

Good to see you here Peter.

Yesterday, during practice, we decided to do some amplifier moving around interior decorating. The guitar player came over to help me with my 410HF. He dug his heels in, bent is knees, and grabbed the handles with two hands. He'd never met a neo cab before. When he finally lifted it, he said, "whoa, how can this thing be so loud and so light?" Then he picked up the LMII.

I just smiled.

It's fun, eh? One of our distributors has a little game where he walks into a music store and tosses a LM II at a salesperson. There's a split second of terror and then the amp lands softly in their hands and they all start laughing.
Then there's all the people at the trade shows who think that the amps are "dummy" amps just to show the design at the show. :D

Cheers,
PM

I got word this evening that my LittleMark II should be in my hands no later than Monday! Woo Hoo! :D

It's coming from a Texas GC to my GC, why my guy didn't do this first, three weeks a go, still makes me go hmmm...

When these new boys get to know me they'd be wise to have a well stocked lefty corner. :D

Peter, that's a cruel (but hillarious) joke - throwing a LMII at someone. :D

Tom, I just love the Bongo through the MB. Bongo EQ + MB VPF/VLE = any school out there tone. Skip dinner, just don't skip breakfast!

The Tempe store has Markbass now, the Phoenix store is getting it in January.
You've got two months to save up! ;)

Peter, when's Markbass going to arrive at the Baton Rouge Guitar Center? I didn't see any when I went a few days ago.

Hi Bill,

Unfortunately I don't see it on the schedule I have which takes us to April. So the soonest would be April.
Remember that you can order Markbass gear from any GC and it will be sent to your door, with a 30-day return policy.
I'll try to remember to let you know if I hear anything specifically about Baton Rouge.

Cheers,
Peter

A few hours ago, a LMII showed up on my doorstep. I had one shipped from the Chicago, GC. I'm still getting to know it, but I can already say that this baby is sweet. Those 2 "magic" knobs are great and my Bongos sound amazing through it. I play in a blues/rock trio and I'm excited to use it on the gig tomorrow night.

Full report expected after the gig Andrew. :D

My MarkBass S450 doesn't have the magic knobs and it still is a killer, I can't wait till my LittleMark comes Monday!

This is truly good stuff.

Welcome, Peter -
Just got my little mark II a couple of days ago, and had my first gig last night - wow! This amp is a lot of fun! Run through the 15" cab, what a sound!

Initially at GC in Towson, I was thinking about the small 210 cab, but when I heard this 15, I loved it. I told the sales rep I didn't think I could lift it - he just grinned and said, "try it!" I couldn't believe how light it is. Tommy just laughs because I look so funny carrying this great big speaker cab that looks like it should weigh a ton - I can easily lift it into my truck. The amp itself fits the milk crate I carry cables and patch cords in.

I'm just looking forward to the weekend to start playing with the VLE and VPF knobs........:D :D :D
