Who cares how a guitar sounds--we want to look cool, right? :D

What's your preference on your EBMM axe? Painted or natural?

Let's see some pics of matching headstocks.

depends on the color....I like my pearl redburst with the natural head stock....I like matching headstocks on other colors though..like the lighter reds and the blues..

I agree- I got the matching headstock on my vintage sunburst Morse- but I went with natural on the purple sunset Y2D I ordered. I guess I wanted one of each-

Nope now see I prefer a non-matching headstock. I like the to see the wood. I've passed on a bunch of guitars because they had matching headstock.

None of mine have matching headstocks and never will.

It's all preference, remember that.

I'm a natty guy too- like the neck to look like wood.

Two exceptions in my gear- the matching headstock on my amber axis looks natural just b/c of the colour. And the red headstock on my bongo just looks cool :p

One of the first threads I posted was "should I paint my head?"

I decided not to order a painted headstock - for me the AL looks better "au naturele"
SO NO TO A PAINTED HEAD!!! :D

sometimes Yea , sometimes Nay. I don't know, there're the days when I think that matching heads are super awesome, and sometimes I think that I like non-matching better,

The simplest answer is: buy the same EBMM with matching headstock and then without :D

I generally prefer matching headstocks. All but one of mine have it, and that was because I couldn't pass up Glenn's Blue Dawn Axis Sport  I have seen several colors that look sharper (in my opinion) with a natural headstock, like Rolls Burgundy. Man, that color with a white/pearloid/ice guard and a natural headstock looks killer :D

JP - yes
Axis - no
y2d - yes
Kramer - yes (unless Tommy sanded it bare for me)
Flying V - yes
Frankenstein - yes

Depends on the fretboard material

With a maple board I like the natural because it continues the natural line.

With a rosewood board I like the matching headstock beacause it compliments the guitar. ( kinda like matching shoes and bag  ;) ). Natural headstock on a rosewood board adds a third color which doesn't compliment as well IMHO

I personally like matching head stocks. However it also depends on what color you have on the guitar. I have a vintage sunburst Silo with rosewood, and matching headstock looks unfreakin belieavably good on it. However if I were to have a light colored guitar I would probably go with natural head. However I personally dont like too many light colors on guitars. The next 2 EBMMs I'm gonna get are gonna be in carbon blue pearl with the matching head, and another one in Pacific Bule Burst w/ matching headstock as well  .

That's why I've always thought Strats with rosewood fretboards look slightly odd.

You would have loved the Silo I saw in a guitar shop. Radience Red, white pickguard, maple fretboard and black (yes, black!) headstock. Talk about a mishmash of colors...

That was a (first year?) Limited Edition color. I really liked the Envy Green Limited Edition, there is a EG Silo on gearbase, and, funds permitting..... Damn, GAS again.

I agree with mbgreen here, maple looks cooler with non-matching, rosewood better with matching. I like rosewood, so matching for me :)
