Depends on the config of the guitar. I think the ones with no pickguard (or a clear one, like a Y2D) look better with matching headstock, though.

I like both. And have both.

But if it was a question of money, I'd put it towards a piezo and never regret it.

I have both, my Luke has the natural headstock and my Axis Super Sport has the matching one !
I think both are beautiful because EB/MM simply have the most beautiful headstock !
So, no mater if you go natural or matched, you will play a guitar with a marvelous 4+2 headstock design that everyone else will envy ;) !

Hmm... For me - it kinda depends on the rest of the guitar (pickguard, finish, fretboard). Let's say - on all JP's - YES, on SM's and Y2D's - NO... But most of the times I also don't like matching ones beacuse 99% of guitars have the back of the neck and headstock all maple / natural...

BTW I also don't like rosewood fretboard stratocasters...

Whoooo aaaaarrreee yoooooou? (picture smoking caterpillar from Alice in Wonderland)

Ask me! The matching/non-matching/pickguard-choice-in-relation-to-color-choice guru, aka "Music Man Fashion Consultant"...

I think (and this is just in my humble-yet-fashion-conscious opinion) that non-matching looks the best when the fretboard is maple. This way, the clean "line" as mentioned in previous post is not interrupted. There is a lot of Feng Shui in color/neck/pickguard options, if you get the rosewood fretboard without a matching headstock, it interrupts the line. Close it off with a matching headstock and you're rockin'. Take THAT, J@an Rivers!

I like collars and cuffs to match personally. On most guitars anyway. That's just my taste. I do have one that's natural, not an EBMM, but still... ;)

So I'd vote Yea.
