I generally prefer matching headstocks. All but one of mine have it, and that was because I couldn't pass up Glenn's Blue Dawn Axis Sport  I have seen several colors that look sharper (in my opinion) with a natural headstock, like Rolls Burgundy. Man, that color with a white/pearloid/ice guard and a natural headstock looks killer :D

JP - yes
Axis - no
y2d - yes
Kramer - yes (unless Tommy sanded it bare for me)
Flying V - yes
Frankenstein - yes

The Kramer was painted?? What color was it?

The all natural headstock usually gets my vote. I'm a wood grain freak. I'd have to see all the combinations though - might change my mind about some of them!

Is he finished with it yet? Looks like I might finish restoring my '68 Barracuda before he is done with my guitar :p

Almost there. It's looking FINE too. At least, the parts I've seen.

I love my avatar too, but:

When he chases his tail he gets all caught up in the guitar cord. Maybe I need to get him a wireless system. (rim shot)

He really wails, but he sounds like an alley cat when he sings. (rim shot)

He only knows one song - "Stray Cat Strut". (rim shot)
OK - no more bad jokes.

Speaking of these songs... I saw on the news last night "NBC Nightly News", I think, that there's an internet radio station that's for pets. I bet they play all sorts of songs like that. "hound dog", etc...

It truly is a great avatar. In fact, it's the Cat's Meow.

You're talking about the Barracuda and not the guitar, right? :D

Uh... um, yeah! right! Say, I didnt know you wanted to make your Kramer a fretless. It looks really different with all those cracks filled in and - good news - he didn't need those extra left over parts he lost after all! so don't gas up the 'cuda just yet... ;)

The 'cuda isn't going anywhere any time soon, the new gas tank just arrived via UPS today, and I just put in the new carpet and new seats (which I re-upholstered myself) on Sunday :D

You guys are kitten, right? :p

I like 'em both painted and natural. It's all about context. I LOVE my autumn redburst headstock with maple board; totally distinguishes it from anything I've seen before. In most cases, I like natural.
