I usually say "Nay" to matching headstocks. Sometimes I think it's a little too blingy or even calculated. I guess I prefer more vintage looks in that regard.

I usually do too. But then I don’t view EBMM guitars as having a vintage vibe, anyway. More inovative than traditional, imo.

Funny, I woke up this morning knowing this thread would be resurrected.

Phatty, why do they scare you? You mean more to get dinged?

Foggy, let me take this opportunity to congratulate you on your new to be acquisition! Long time comin', dude. Just one question: are you going to be selling your air guitar?

You know I must keep it for sentimental reasons. ;)

Thanks, Rob. I'm playing it more all the time. I can't even say anymore that I prefer rosewood over maple; they're just different.

I like the natural/non-matching headstocks. If the headstock had a quilt/maple cap on it, then I'd say stain it to match. Otherwise, let the birdseye speak for itself.

With rosewood definately matching. With maple it doesn't matter. With the Dargie's I'd definately go matching. The Dargie green body and matching headstock goes very nicely with the rosewood board.:) All you have to do is take a look at pictures of the Silhouette Bass and Luke from Dallas to see how nice it looks.;)

For me, it matching or I won't even consider buying it. Natural on a colored guitar does nothing for me.:(

See now Rad I'm just the opposite. It prefer non-matching all the way, the painted headstocks have always just bothered me.

Man, when the finish is this awesome, it has to be matching for me. :)

na i dont really care about my stuff getting dinged - its gonna happen.

its all preference obviously. but for the most part i just dont like how they look. on RW boards im not scared of some of the "simpler" finishes w/ matching headstock (black, saph black) but not with any of the brighter (reds, etc) or burst finishes

its just not my thing.

Paul, that’s on fire, man! Love it.

Phatty, I can dig it. Nice to be offered these choices.
