Hi all,

This is my first thread since registering. I'd be interested to know what mods other than straight switch, pickup etc swaps there are out there.

My mod is as follows:

3-way on-on-on slider in place of the 5-way switch controlling just the HBs with usual Neck, Both, Bridge set-up. This was my starting point: I just couldn't get on with the switch where it is - always knocking it when playing rhythm so needed a lower profile and stiffer switch.

On-off-on switch between and in front of knobs for SC (middle = off, down = in-phase, up = out of phase).

Push-pull coil taps on Vol and Tone.

So the guitar went from 5 sounds to I think 18 sounds (plus SC only if you jam the 3-way in between so HBs are off - not really too viable playing live)

Any comments?

Cheers,

DL

Wow, 70 views but no comment!

Quick question then - has no-one else ever experienced the 5-way switch to be in the way when playing rhythm? I think the Silo is the most versatile guitar but couldn't live with banging the switch every time I played with intent.

Cheers guys,

Welcome to the forum!

I have never played a silo but I play Steve morse guitars and I think the switch might be relatively in the same place. I used to hit it when I played but I eventually got used to it and rarely hit it now. It just took some time and paying attention to my picking hand to stop doing it.
