I also agree that that there is just too much stuff that I'll never use included in the ToneLab...or most multi units for that matter.

I'd love a multi box that had an expression pedal, delay, chorus, flanger, comp, noise gate, od and distortion and a tuner. All done well, nothing additional. It would operate like a stompbox setup, but would allow you to save a reasonable but limited number of presets into a library that used user created "words"...not "numbers" as patch names. I can't remember what the 4th patch in bank 3 is. Go figure.

I would guess that this pedal exists, and I just haven't found it yet.....or due to my budget I haven't looked at it yet.

the boss Me -50 was simple enough you could use it just like single stompboxes 1 overdrive/distortion pedal , modulation pedal and a delay pedal with an expression pedal.

Write down what effects you want to have and buy quality pedals one at a time. Buy a great delay, save up and buy a great phaser, etc. I understand the appeal of multi effects units, but most likely you'll end up buying nicer sounding pedals down the road. Why not start now and take it slow buying o e good pedal at a time. Your ears will thank you.

I went through a bunch of multi-pedals recently trying to connect with one, and I tried the Nova and sent it back. It was a mistake. It's the one I should have kept. There was something about that analog distortion that just got me. As long as you're not looking for really high gain sounds, you made a good choice. (Note, I didn't talk about the effects, because well, they're TC. How could you go wrong?)

If you don't like the sound of Dhalif playing through a Line 6 product, you'll never like the Line 6 stuff. This young man should be on Line 6's payroll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a beater Boss ME-50 that take to jams and similar quick setups. It works Ok, maybe not the best sound compared with better single-pedal solutions but it beats dragging around a big pedalboard. Also, ME-50 (and ME-70) has real knobs so you could tweak stuff on-stage without the need of poking numbers into a tiny LCD screen field.

Hi Guys

Had the Nova System for a week now and i am using it in the effects loop as i love my Blackstar gain sound. I was wondering what happens if you try and use the presets when connected this way as most of the factory presets use the drive section. I tried one and the amp made a very nasty loud bang and i dare not try it again, i assume this is a no no but i have very limited knowledge in the electronic side of things

thanks

Hello Jamie

If you want to use the presets of your Nova System, you can :
1. switch the Nova System in the clean channel of your amp
2. switch directly the Nova System in the return input of the effect loop. In this case you bypass completely the preamp section of your amp. When you use a modelling multi-effect (Line 6, Digitech ...), that's the best way in order to achieve the best result (otherwise the preamp of your amp will "disturb" the amp models of your multi-effect.

Hi Fbecir
The presets work really well with the clean channel. When in the loop the effects all work well (no drive obviously) but if i try to use presets when hooked into th fx loop that is when i get the horrible loud bang from the amp. I may just go back to running it all through the front again.
Thanks for your help

Did you try to switch directly the NOVA in the return input ? That means that you don't use the normal input of your amp nor the effect send.

Sorry, my English is not so good ...

Normally when you use an effect loop, you have :
1. one cable from the guitar to the input of your amp
2. one cable from the "Effect send" of the effect loop to the input of your effect processor
3. one cable from the output of the effect processor to the "Return" of the effect loop

What you can do :
1. one cable from the guitar to the input of your effect processor
2. one cable from the output of the effect processor to the "Return" of the effect loop

This second solution works with serial effect loop (I think it's the case with the Blackstar). With my BlackStart HT5 or my Fender Blues Deville, it works perfectly.
If you have a parallel loop, you just have to put the effect return Mix to the max. It works well with my Marshall DSL401.

Hope that helps !
