Check out my new case. I seen an ad for this in Bass Player mag - so I ordered one for myself. I wanted one due to the wheels. I'm always carrying a lot of crap and this helps tremendously.

Those of you looking for a Bongo case - I bet this would work. I'll let you know for sure - I'm going to try my Bongo in it. I think I'm going to get one for each of my basses. :D

Jack, sorry I didn't post this earlier but 2 weeks ago I called down to SKB and talked to a guy who said that they had taken a Bongo and put it in there at NAMM and it worked great, now I repeated "was it a 5 string Bongo?" and the guy said ya, we put a Bongo in there and it fit. So.... that's what I'm taking on the road with me in July for the month for my SR5 and I've got another one on order for when my BONGO FINALLY ARRIVES....:(

Chris, i think you'll dig it too, the wheels are really smooth. The only thing that sucks is that the Fragile stickers don't stick to the finish so you have to wrap a couple together around the handles. I'm thinking about stenciling FRAGILE on mine.

Hmmm...I don't know if a Bongo 5 in a gig bag will fit in there, or not.

My new Levy's bag is 49" on the inside, and the Bongo fits in it pretty snugly. The dimensions on the SKB are 48-1/2" x 16-3/4" x 4-3/4".

Without a gigbag, it might work, but is that thing designed to used with a gigbag? If I could fit my bass and gigbag in that thing, I'd get one in a second.

Let us know how it works out.

ok i have a question about the "bass safe". you have to put your bass in a gig bag, then put it in the safe. is there any other padding in the safe, or is the only padding the gig bag?

No other padding inside except for a bit of dense foam at the top and bottom of the safe.If you've got a nice thick gig bag the bass is really snug inside.I've flown with my SR5 in it already and it works great.

Yes, he's correct. At first I thought it would be a problem - but all my basses fit real nice inside - Including...................My Bongo5!! The gig bag fits quite snug inside. I might get some extra padding from a craft store - but I really don't think it will need it.

Yes you do have to put your bass in a gig bag to use this case. Personally, this isn't a problem for me. Some might not like the idea. IMHO it's the safest and easiest case out there.

It's only slightly larger than your average HS case. I'll work on getting some pics - but no promises ;)

Just did a bunch of little "puddle jumper" flights last week and the BassSafe is the King! :D It is as light if not lighter than a normal hardshell and the wheels are nice and smooooooth in the terminal walking it around. My SR5 has not sustained any injuries either. For those who do some flying to warrant something but not enough to go and get a huge custom cut hard shell flight case then I highly recommend the Bass Safe. us gig bag brethren have to stick together chris :D
