Thanks Dan,

I'm great. Hope things are well for you too.

This bass is my favourite. I'm going to add a clear guard to it to show off the colour.

David

David, how are ya man? Nice find on this bass! A little-known fact (unless you frequent Gav's website) is that the later (I think from '82 on, correct me if I am wrong, Gav)) pre-EB Music Man basses did not use STTB, but instead a top-load bridge like we use now, and also used a 4-bolt neckplate. The early EBMMs just continued that, later redesigning the bridge and using a 6-bolt neckplate. Early EBMM's resemble the last few years of pre-EB MM in a few ways, as the changes that were made to the StingRays did not occur overnight.

Unfortunately, another similarity is that our database does not have serial number info for the first few years of EBMM instruments, but it sounds like you've narrowed it down well enough.

Rob, welcome! Your StingRay was completed on 5/27/92 and was shipped to the UK. The only thing is - our records indicate that it left the factory with an all-maple neck. It must have been swapped at some point, probably by the distributor ....

Dan,
Thanks for the info! Bit of a shock about the neck, but still, best bass I've owned in the 22 years I've been playing. Still going strong here in the north east of england.
Thanks for a great bass!!

Welcome to the forum!! Your Bongo was done on 7/28/05 and sent to Guitar Center. That Sapphire Black with the moonstone pickguard is one of my favorite combos! :D

Enjoy!

Your StingRay was done on 12/19/00 and sent to Truetone Music in Santa Monica, CA

And you are correct on the color and the other specs are the same as what it says in our database!
