DOB request

Hi there,
I got myself a very nice stingray 4, cherry burst finish with beautiful birds eye maple neck. Equipped with a D-tuner (original??) Serial is on the bridge, which is: 38908. Metal battery cover.
What is the DOB of this bass, and where was it originally shipped to?
Thanks a lot!

Greetings!

I have had my Stingray 4 for about 5 or 6 years now, and I'm the 2nd owner. It's one of the Blue Sparkle finishes (not sure if Glacial or Stratus) has a maple neck with non-matching headstock and white PG that the previous owner painted black, and 3 band EQ. Serial Number is E33162 according to the neck plate. I'd love to know when it was made and which finish it actually is! Thanks a million.

Hi, I'd like to know what the production date (or all the information you have, might be useful) of my MM Stingray 5 was. SN is E22248. Thx in advance.

Hayrus, welcome to the forum!
E22248 - DOB: 04/11/01, Gunsmoke SR5, ashwood body, black pickguard, maple neck/ rosewood fretboard. Shipped to Guitar Center Distribution Center.

Thanks very much. Of all the reading I've done about guitars, I don't recall much mention of poplar for bodies. Could you comment on the relative quality(ies) of poplar versus ash or alder?

Nijushiho,
Poplar is a heavy, yet soft hardwood that is overall well-balanced.
The Ashwood we use is usually lighter, more airy/ twangy, and has good sustain- Also looks better with a Trans/ Natural finish.
Alder is a medium-weight wood that is known for its strong, clear, full-bodied sound, beefy mids, excellent lows, and highs that sizzle a bit but aren't harsh. Decent amount of sustain.

Hi I have just bought 2 Ernie ball basses and I wanted to know the D/O/B please.

Checking for a friends in my region, ...one "suspiciously cheap" Stingray 5 in our domestic adds for sale:

S/N: E45654

It should be a single H SR5, ...I'd like to know in which store worldwide was shipped from the factory, please?

Acelino, welcome to the forum!
MM30LTD98 is not a Music Man serial number. It could be a Sterling By Music Man or OLP serial #, which we don't have in our database

I am happy to be the proud owner of one fine sounding (gently used) Stingray Classic IV. The tone knocked me dead... Whoa!! :-0 It wasn't the bass I was originally interested in when I went "shopping", but the Classic, w/the mutes, sucked me into the MM vortex of killer tone! I'm now looking for it's D.O.B. Serial # B054128. Thanks in advance!
