Yay! First EBMM!

EBMM Sterling 4H in Blue Dawn (I think), or at least some kind of blue, serial no. F14683

Erland,

Congratulations on your first Music Man! It is not a Blue Dawn , but it is a beautiful Blue Pearl Sterling and it was completed on 7/05/06.

Hi there!can you get me info about this SR4 #45477.body color and color of pickguard.thanks!!!

PH, this Natural StingRay with a rosewood board was built on 5/17/95 and sent to the old Ace Music in Florida. The stock pickguard would have been black on this one, no way to know for sure if it's been changed.

And this please)# 36422
StingRay in BlueBurst, completed on 12/09/92, sent to American Music. Are these both yours, if so, nice classics! If not, this thread is for owners only. If you have an inquiry, please PM me. thanks!

Dan I went to the local dealer for strings and they demanded I take this F19782 with me when I left and I couldn't refuse. What the heck is it and when was it built ? :D
Tim,

Wow, sounds like you were at the Ernie Ball booth at this past NAMM show:
NAMM15.JPG

They made you an offer you couldn't refuse!

Your bass was built on 11/1/07. It is a Stealth Bongo 5 in the HH configuration, with all black body and hardware. Nice -

Thanks Dan. Okay I am really flipping out now, I thought it might be a little older than 3 months old. I can't believe they had it on clearance already  Something is definitely amiss......

Hey, I just picked up a brand new Sterling H/S. I was wondering if I could get a DOB just for kicks.

S/N: F19363

Thanks!
Justin

Justin, congrats on your new black Sterling HS. It was completed on 1/24/08 and shipped to Bass Northwest - and I would expect that Chad, Evan and the boys took good care of you there!

All reet!

And here's another.

Serial number on the bridge is 54064 (no letter that I could find).

I have some pics posted here if it helps:

http://www.ernieball.com/forums/music-man-basses/30302-help-me-date-bass-value.html#post476703

Bass is a Stingray 5 fretless. Finish is a translucent dark red/burgundy with flat black pick guard.

Seller told me it was 1992 or 1993.

Can you help me with when it was made, where it shipped and what wood used for neck and fretboard? Really beautiful bass!!

Thanks in advance for any insights!

Wow, Zippydog, nice find! This bass was completed on 10/25/93 and was shipped to the original (legendary) Manny's Music on 48th Street in New York. The finish is Translucent Red. The wood on the body is alder, the neck a sweet maple (!), and the fretboard is pau ferro. What a find!

Hey Dan!

First off, thank you for referring me to Bass Central in Florida. My Desert Gold JP7 arrived this morning. It's absolutely incredible! If you could, could you tell me a little information about my guitar? The serial number is F19368. It feels like it's strung with 9s so I'm assuming it was built late 2007. Thanks!

ruso, very cool, glad that worked out for you! The build date of this baby is 1/25/08 - so it barely cleared the doorway of BC before they shipped it to you. How's that for cool!

That's freaking awesome! Yeah, I noticed when I opened up the case that the clearcoat was still tacky. ;) So does that mean it's a 2008 model? Thanks a bunch Dan!

Welcome to the Forum JK.

Your Bass is a Pre-Ernie Ball Sting Ray and appears to have been made in 1978. Factory records don't exist for the Pre-EB instruments. However, dates are recorded on the neck heel and in the neck pocket on the body but the neck has to be removed to view them. If you wish to confirm those dates but feel comfortable in doing so, a luthier should be able to do it for you at a nominal fee.

I just bought a new Stingray from Bass Central. White with tort pickguard Serial #E61450. Do you have any info on this one? Thanks.

Victor, This bass was completed on 8/22/07. The color is white, it has a rosewood board and did originally ship to Bass Central with a shell pickguard . Nice!
