That serial number appears to belong to a Sterling by Music Man instrument. Unfortunately we don't have the production records for those. Here is a link to their contact page, Contact Welcome to the Sterling by Music Man Website.

New here, but not new to Musicman basses after quite some time with my Tony Levin labelled 5-String went back to just 4.
I believe i have a real beauty here in E55689. Please, what is the super-slim neck, rosewood or mahogany, and what's used for the body? And (hope i#m not asking too much) how many were made of these BFR-SR in "classic" H4 config and when was she done?

...and my natural Sterling pale home darling, never saw the sun with her unvarnished neck, not as shiny as the Stingray but a lot lighter on the strap and in tone -- and perhaps quite a bit older (#46238) ?

Stingray 4 - Serial E41450

Hi Joel

I have just bought a rather lovely Stingray, believed to be 2004, a sort of copper colour with matching headstock and maple neck.

I would be very grateful to know it's birth date, colour name and anything else, if you would be so kind.

Many thanks

Thank you Joel,
You already replied on my question for the date, but is it possible that E34854(Nov 2013) is HH version of Stingray 5?
Thank you.

Hi Joel,
I owned my Stingray nearly 25 years ago.
It is a limited edition (Malibu Beach) and I want to know the DOB, the body wood and the number of basses in this edition.

Thank you very much !

Thank you a lot, Joel. Now, before posting my request to you i had been browsing the BFR picture thread (pics not visible to me??), where i had stumbled over this
http://forums.ernieball.com/ernie-b...rve-picture-thread-post470538.html#post470538

In the current absence of the original pictures, i was not sure if mine might be one of the 120-strong run mentioned there.
But following your answer, it appears the high weight of mine is explained by it's solid African Mahogany body as opposed to the ash body mentioned for those 120.

Thanks again,
Ralph
