#E40006, trans teal (I think), maple neck, rosewood FB, black PG, purchased recently at Candyman in Santa Fe. Body? Date? Other info? THX

Does this bass have a shielded cavity? I'm new to EBMM, so don't know if some SRs do, or all do. I'm getting RF noise at my regular (church) gig, never a problem before. THX

Mark (I think?) Serial # E40006 was completed on 02/03/04. The body is Southern Ash, the finish is definitely Translucent Teal. the neck of course maple with a rosewood fretboard.

Regarding your noise issue, yes, there is graphite shielding in the cavity under the pickup and preamp which usually does a good job of helping shield the noise. There may be a loose ground wire there somewhere. Please call me at 866-823-2255. to discuss.

Hi,

I just scored a used Stingray 4 bass. It has a maple neck on a natural body with a black pickguard. The serial number is E48081. I'd like to know its date of manufacture and any other additional info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks and Merry Christmas!

mbstrums

mb, your new-to-you bass was completed on 08/24/05. The body is Southern ash and the neck is solid maple.

Cheers,

Dan

Thanks for the quick response - got it NIB from Bass Central yesterday - I'll throw it a birthday party tomorrow!

Any more info (wood, etc)?

Steve, the wood we use on all StingRays these days is Southern ash. The pickguard is a 5-ply BCBCB. Hope you are enjoying your bass - there were a couple hundred StingRays made with this configuration.

Frank, this is probably an instrument with a story to tell. We show this bass being completed on Jan. 24 1997, and was originally painted in a Sunburst finish. Originally shipped to France.

Info Please

I got this Sting Ray of Ebay a couple of years ago. The previous owner didn't know what year it was. It's black with a mother of pearl pick guard. The serial number is 31012. Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Looks like another story to tell, because our records show this bass originally as a Trans Blueburst StingRay with a 2-band EQ originally shipped to GC in San Diego on 5/23/90. Unless you'd like to check the serial number again?

drTStingray-Your bass was completed on 7/31/2003. It was sent to Stingray & Things, our UK distributor. The only other information I have on it is the color, pickguard, neck, etc, but you already know all of that.

Xorisso-Your bass was completed on 9/30/1999. It features a very cool discontinued color, "metal flake green". It was shipped to Alrica in Portugal.

People_Hater-Your bass was completed on 12/08/1992. The body is made of ash.

scrove-Welcome aboard! Your Sterling was completed on 8/09/2005.

Thanks, A.J (PS I guess you meant Strings and Things!) - Don.

I just picked up a 1994 Sterling with S/N 42498. It's has a birdseye maple neck, a rosewood board and it's some sort of burst paint job (either sunburst or cherry burst). Any info would be appreciated.

Another History Request

I told our worship leader about this board, and he asked me to have his bass looked up as well. he bought it several years ago from someone in NY. It's a single H Stingray 4 with matching headstock, SN E37007. Any info you can provide is appreciated.

Steve, wow your worship leader is a bass player? Guess there's hope for me yet ... this bass was completed on 05/30/03 and is an original Blue Dawn. Sweet! Originally shipped to Music Land USA in Brooklyn (now el gonzo, bought out by Music & Arts, a division of Guitar Center)
