sorry dan, i got the number wrongly, no wonder..
its
E62295

Jaco, congratulations on your new bass! It was completed on 03/13/08. we list it as having a Honeyburst finish, rosewood fretboard and tortoise shell pickguard. Only one problem - are you sure you're not missing a string? The info we have here says it is a StingRay 5 - according to the serial number you provided.

Well, that changes everything! Now your bass is a StingRay 4 HH, Vintage Sunburst, rosewood with matching 'stock. Competion date: 2/06/08. Much better, no? :p:)

A friend of mine is worried about how genuine his SUB bass is, and thinks that the neck may have been swapped so i told him i'd submit the serial number here and hopefully you guys could tell us what colour the body was when it left the factory.

The number is: X03680

Cheers

oli, congratulations on acquiring a 20th Anniversary StingRay. There about 1300 of these made total.

This one was originally shipped to Germany. This one was made on May 23 96.

This SUB bass is passive and has a Textured Black finish. It was completed on 9/9/03, hope that helps!

Want to know D.O.B.

Hey folks, I just bought my first MM SR 5 Natural finish, Maple board. I think it's a 1996. Serial number is 59031. 6 bolt neck-plate. 3 way e.q.

Any info would be great!

Thanks.

Hey Dan, thanks a lot! This is indeed a very nice specimen, mint condition with very little wear, purchased from the original owner. Now here comes the interesting part: He claims to have ordered the bass in a store in Zurich, Switzerland at the moment he saw them advertised. Interesting that it was shipped to Germany...

BTW, according to www.musicmanbass.org, there were "Total of 1246 Anniversary Basses made. With regards to the necks, 713 were Maple, 477 Rosewood, 21 lined fretless, and 35 unlined fretless". If those numbers are correct (which I assume, given Gavin's accurate investigation style), that would make it one of 713. :)

Hello there. I've just taken ownership of a StingRay 4H 3EQ in Translucent Teal with black guard and all maple neck (with a certain amount of birdseye figuring - nice!). B04108. Previous owner thought it was new in 1997 or thereabouts. Any more info? Thx

Texan, welcome to the Forum and congratulations on your acquisition!

Your Trans Teal StingRay was completed on October 16,1996 and was originally shipped to the U.K. However, it left the factory as a fretless without lines. Apparent neck swap at some point.
