Bitsa?

Its a wierd one this,

I've just bought a 4 string stingray which has a Status neck attached and has been refinished natural.
It has the big base plated bridge with foam mutes but no through bridge stringing, however it has the ferules in the back of the body.
The bridge plate has the serial number 29280 under the saddles and Musicman written on the tail.
It has an aftermarket circuit in it with stacked pots but has the side mounted jack plate which is now disused. It also has a 6 bolt neck plate.

What i was wondering is,....... Is it a bitsa or a cross over period anomaly?

If so what was its original colour and neck/finger board combination?

Thanks for your help

David, there appears to be very little that was original left on this bass. The finish was originally White. The original neck was solid maple. It was first shipped to Guitar Center in Van Nuys/Sherman Oaks, CA. Original production date is 3/20/90.

Thanks for the info Dan, so do you think the body with the ferules is original to the bridge?

Thanks very much

nami, welcome to the Forum ... your piezo-equipped StingRay 4 in Natural finish / maple neck with a tortoise shell pickguard was completed on 6/17/08 and shipped directly to your country. Congratulations on your new bass!

igharb, welcome to the Forum. Your Sterling in Blue Pearl with a rosewood board was built on 08/13/98 and was shipped to Guitar Showcase in San Jose, CA.
