could anyone provide any info on this bass? I looked for a SN but didnt see it at a glance. (first time post; pictures should be attached)

The serial is located on the bridge between the string saddles and riser on the bridge tail.

Sabre bass

Hi everybody,

I just bought a really nice Sabre Bass serial 250007 - some hastily taken photos are attached.

Any clue as to its age, I'm guessing fairly early EB period, as it has the later switch and bridge, but has a quite well aged finish esepcially on the neck.

To clarify: What possible use can the guitar dater project have for owners of musiman instruments? All instruments are made in the same factory (read the back of the headstock), EBMM can provide a detailed description of your instrument including exactly when it was made and they do not build instruments for others.

Hi mistabenn - your bass was most likely alder and it was shipped to Thoroughbred Music in Florida.

Regarding the serial number, an extra zero had slipped in there, it is 25007.

Unfortunately records don't exist for Pre-EB and early EB serials prefixed with a "B".

This looks like it may be late 80's. It doesn't come up in our data base, but you can kind of judge by the serial number for the Sabre basses around that time by checking out this website: SERIALS Pre-EB and EB - Musicmanbass.org, Music Man, Musicman, Music Man Bass, Musicman Bass, Music Man Guitar

Also you can check the neck pocket, as sometimes there is a date stamped in there.
