Thanks Aziah. So it's probably only special to me. That's ok I love the bass.
I have another bass I'd like info for.

Sabre bass

Hi everybody,

I just bought a really nice Sabre Bass serial 250007 - some hastily taken photos are attached.

Any clue as to its age, I'm guessing fairly early EB period, as it has the later switch and bridge, but has a quite well aged finish esepcially on the neck.

Thanks,

John

Ah damn Dan was a dude and helped me out. Hope he is OK! BTW Where did my new/old bass get shipped to? Many thanks Aziah, and glad to meet you.

Aziah, could you tell me the body wood, and also where mine was originally shipped to please?

I think its kind of sad MM has no service regarding this rather simple matter.

Umm, well having a real person telling you exactly when your guitar or bass was made is not to your liking?

Too bad, can you spell moron?

Edit:
To clarify: What possible use can the guitar dater project have for owners of musiman instruments? All instruments are made in the same factory (read the back of the headstock), EBMM can provide a detailed description of your instrument including exactly when it was made and they do not build instruments for others.

Hi John - Great bass! Can you double check that serial#? It's not one that is coming up in our database.

Hi Dangaro- Your bass was done on 7/6/06

Hi mistabenn - your bass was most likely alder and it was shipped to Thoroughbred Music in Florida.

Hi Aziah,

Yes it's a very pretty Sabre bass. It kind of bought itself!

Regarding the serial number, an extra zero had slipped in there, it is 25007.

Many thanks,

John

This is my first post on this forum. I bought serial #E70827 yesterday at GC. I know it's some type of LE but I'm not sure of the official name. Any info would be most helpful.

My brother has just bought a sub1 guitar (you know, the little things with 6 small strings;))- serial X12431. Can you tell me the usual specs or do I have to cross over to the other side of the forums for that?

This looks like it may be late 80's. It doesn't come up in our data base, but you can kind of judge by the serial number for the Sabre basses around that time by checking out this website: SERIALS Pre-EB and EB - Musicmanbass.org, Music Man, Musicman, Music Man Bass, Musicman Bass, Music Man Guitar

Also you can check the neck pocket, as sometimes there is a date stamped in there.
