Quality is the key!

No Chinese or Mexican imports allowed

Tough, commercial decision BP, but the right one.

The SUB was a courageous move, but sadly some other brands are lowering the prices with chinese imports. Lower prices are good for beginners & kids, but the SUB was a perfect guitar for an intermediate player.
We will regret it.

Damn it, sure we will regret it. I never had the possibility to test the Sub guitar, but a friend of mine have a Sub bass, amazing stuff, so in my mind the Sub1 were the same. Maybe later you will have a new opportunity to make again this guitar Big Poppa.
Like said HovisBap Quality is the Key!

Geeze... I presume this means the original bass as well as the S.U.B. 1 guitar? The models will be missed, for sure... I guess I'd better accelerate my bass shopping schedule; I'll have to try to convince my wife that it would be a worthy Christmas present, perhaps...

On the bright side this will free up some production capacity... ...so maybe we'll see the return of the Axis Sport? :)

...or maybe a new model will be introduced? (maple top LUKE III anyone?) :D

BP can answer this with more authority than I-----but maybe at that price point, the made in the USA cache didnt have much impact????? Perhaps its that at that price point people are shopping price more than manufacturing. Just a thought.....
It is a damn shame though. But the US manufacturers can't ignore China and Korea---most have shareholders to answer to.

I have shareholders to answer to...he's typing this message.

Guys this isnt sad, its business. Also some dealers have subs and will sell them for a good price because they dont have the input you have.

SOmeday I may have to cave in and offer import MM instruments, It just doesnt interest me

+10000000 - Money makes the world go round, question for you though does this mean EBMM is on the stock market ? - and can we knuckleheads buy shares?? I'm sick of buying stock in mining companies and crappy little firms that I have no clue what they do, I'd rather invest my hard earned in a company that makes amazing instruments.... so what's the stockmarket code/trading name please??

Smellybum, soon to be that geeky guy at the end of the shareholders table!

I respect that...patrice always says he would be dead before there would be vigier with chinese parts.

integrity.

I'm okay with that point of view.

Sorry to hear about the news, Poppa. I was wondering myself how you guys could make a really good American made guitar and sell it at that price point. Even in our Canadian dollar it was a killer price. It's too bad they won't be made any more, but business is business. At least you can say you did it. Even for a few years.
