I have been waiting for some band to break and get music back to wear it used to be, but I am this close to throwing in the towel. How many guys out there listen to music from artist that are not already established, and does anyone see something or someone on the horizen that seem special and may break big.
I listen to all types of music from Rock,Blues,Metal,Country,Shred,R&B, and Jazz and 99% of it all is at least a decade old.To be honest I have not even listened to the radio in years as I cant take this Hip Hop and fabricated Tween crap that has been ruling the waves for the last decade. The only artist from this decade that I bought new releases from were Keith Urban, Joe Bonamassa, John Mayer and Dragon Force, which shows how I am bouncing. I dropped Mayer and will just leave that alone.lol and Dragon Force who I got from my 17 year old after hearing Through the fire and the Flames which I really dug, but the rest of the CD did not cut it for me.
I am not talking about a great guitarist, because I know just about every players player out there but a band. It is going to take a band that writes strong songs but that has a twist to them to start a movement where other bands will follow as this is really pathetic now. It really struck me how bad things are when I have to see a player the calibre of Nuno Bettencourt being the guitarist for Rianon or however you spell her name ,on American Idol, I almost fell out of my seat.lol
What are most of you guys listening to.
