I've decided to pick up a Silhouette Special, and now only have to figure out what pickup configuration to go with SSS or SSH. Can someone tell me the fundamental differences in sound I'd get from the two respective configurations? Oh, and is it possible to split the Humbucker on the SSH version? Thanks people...

im pretty sure you can't split the pups on the SSH but i could be wrong.

the diff in sound is definately a taste thing ... i mean ... youll have a humbucker in the bridge instead of a single coil. i would personally go with the SSH but thats cuz i play lots of heavy stuff and could use the extra balls from the H. but if youre going for a clapton-like sound you may want the sss
