Hey Guys!

I recently bought a nice Music Man JP6 Model. It has been refinished! A previous owner didn't like the finish and painted it in some sort of White Pearl (Looks professional!!). I guess the original painting was blue...
The guy also made some changes on that guitar - he installed Seymour Duncan active PU's, other knobs and strapbuttons.

Since I have no additonal information on the guitar I want to ask you how I can make sure, that this guitar is not an fake or a "modded Sterling" - are there some properties only MM Guitars have?

thank you for you help!

Aww man, what kind of a monster would do that! Bless you sir, for rescuing this from such a beast. Post the serial number in the stickied thread above and an EBMM rep will tell you all the vitals for that JP.

Thank you so much - I posted the Serial number and I wait for further information.
I think the serial number and especially the backplate is hard to fake...also the tremolo is original and stays in tune perfectly!

The guitar went through many hands as far as I know, it was sold on eBay in Germany several times.
I'm glad to have the guitar here and I rely on my experience...it Plays wonderful!
I think a "fake" would not play that good and there is some evidence that this guitar is original...

But it has definately been refinished - that's such a shame.....The seymour duncan pickups will soon be replaced by the original ones or the Illuminators...

Do you guys not read my posts anymore or something? :D

The serial number was already asked about back in January of this year by a member from Germany...

I am looking for information on the following serial number G21802. DOB and Specs.
Thank You!

This JP6 was completed on October 10th, 2002. The color is Stratus Blue Sparkle with the Rosewood fretboard, JP inlays & matching headstock. It was originally shipped to Margarida Music.

Margarida Music is/was in Puerto Rico.

Shame. That Stratus Blue was an interesting finish, kind of a louder and flashier Starry Night almost. Still looks like a pretty sweet guitar once you get it back in fighting form. :)
