Nope, very rare for this place. This is why I like coming here. It could truly be a noob but, what it seems like is an existing forumite with another persona (newly created user profile under a different email address) stirring up sh%$. I got hit by one when I did my April fools thread and you never saw that user post again. I had to delete the thread since the guy wouldn't stop BSing and the mods wouln't lock down my thread after numerous requests. I think that it's time to lock this one down...

Well, can You play more than powerchords - then show it! If not, sell all Your guitars, cause You are worthless, and leave this forum immediately. Repeat: IMMEDIATELY!!! :D

Hmmm, am I missing something here? Phil seems like a nice guy but all he does is play power chords through his Mesa Boogie. Moving along..

OK. Not a great entrance especially to put someone down. Maybe that is all he knows....maybe not. The point is he is playing. I am sure in your great technical abilities you can show us all how Vai'esque you are. You may be the phenom we all have been waiting for...you may not be. His instruments, his amp, his cam, his time, and his right.

I don't claim by any stretch of the word to be a great player. However, since you feel like you can critique others....show us your vids. I am sure there will be someone out there that can pick it apart.

Yes, Phil is a cool guy and there was no need for your comment.

That's one.

No....not often. It happens of course just like anywhere else. We tend to police ourselves and respect each other more so here than on other places I have visited.

I have looked at different forums here and there but this one is the first one I stick around and enjoy. There is a certain class and ambiance here and I hope that it will stay like that. The occasional out of place comments like trasher's one are totally useless and uncalled for...just glad 99% of us are more evolved!

How many guitar players does it take to screw in a light bulb?

Six. One to screw it in, and five to say, "I could have done it better".

Slav please dont self moderate especially in light of some of your recent posts.....

Here is the deal Moderators requires moderation. ALso it is not a god given right that every thread will make you happy. Self moderate and dont respond... or go to the next one.....also this thread is strange anyway...a bunch of hijacking in a thread that was pretty weird to begin with.

I have to be honest I was tempted to check phils you tube page to see what kind of a player since we have never made a guitar that he was happy with...but I didnt Phil's own here admission that all 5 weren't bad unlike he has said in previous emails and PMS to others was enough for me.

PS I just sent the guitar that Phil returned to John Petrucci...seriously. Pete re set it up and is not having any of the problems that Phil had.

I love it when a thread totally hits the rails ...

Let's all practice a bit of restraint before slagging anyone. That goes a million fold if you're a brand new member just tuning in.

The whole situation sucks all around. Phil, I know you want to be happy with the guitars you buy, and as a dealer if you buy them from me I know that I certainly want you to be happy with them, and will do my best to ensure that you are. Unfortunately in this case it just wasn't meant to be. Hopefully you can find another JPX or suitable guitar asap, and get back to rockin!

Sidenote - I'm amazed at the rabbit trail this thread headed down.

I have owned a 15 of these bad boys and used or new no problems ...NEVER had a bad neck on one ever.....and i do my own setups ...learn how ..its ez and you can make your own conclusions ...I really cant see a twisted neck leaving the factory ...and it wasnt a long enough period to twist itself, unless it was left in some extreme temps.

To clarify about the twist - the truss was adjusted to be perfectly flat when it came back from the other tech, and there was a small (small) amount of twist. I added a small amount of relief, tweaked the action and bridge, tweaked the truss again, and the neck was fine. Nothing short of playable. Sometimes it just takes patience and then a little more patience.

Well, it is strange to try to have a prefectly flat neck with a wood neck. If you want a flat neck and a low action, buy a Vigier (the Vigier neck are 90% wood, 10% carbon). With wood, you can't have a perfect stability, the other tech should have know better.

Peace

BP-
I'll take the liberty to explain the original High Jacking by lefty and I.... it was a bit heavy in regards to the dis-satisfaction of the JPX for one reason or another... and we derailed it and threw in some humor to hopefully take away some of the tension of the original post...

and i'll throw this out there... i'm no JP but if ya wanna donate a twisted neck or somethin i'm willing to test drive it... LOL!!!
