silverburst you made my point excactly, you used to negociate from retail, now the price tag is 30-50% less and these people still go into GC and try to grind these guys and gals down even more, making it hard for the average person to make a living at a GC. and what really chapped me was the "offer $1050 let them smell it and then walk out" thats the kind of crap that burns me up. that mentality doesn't just come through on damaged gear. I mean, do you go into the supermarket and try to get a better deal on tomatos or go into the record store and ask for a discount on a CD? Incase you haven't guessed it yet I have worked at a GC for 31/2 years now, I'm an asst. manager but I had to work my way up, but it's a hard gig when people walk in and always want abetter deal thinking that we make so much money on everything in the store, we don't. you want to ask for a deal do it on strings and picks thats the stuff that has an OK profit margin. alls I'm saying is give these hard working folks a chance to make a living and maybe they can stay there long enough to become an employee that knows the place inside and out and better knows the gear. my rant is done.
