having been on the receiving end of some very good advice (and some discipline) from Big Poppa I can only say "I hope that Kid realizes what he had one day and mends that bridge". Good luck to you Luke and see you down under again soon.

YOu know this thing just is really too bad....

Tyler and his Dad have been guests in my house. Tylers new manager and the old photographer are telling people that "Tim has had wild offers from various people on Tyler and that he and Tyler and Tyler's dad felt that he should work with Fender on the projects they have"

Knife in the back by Tyler and his dad. His new TV producer manager never bothered to interview us or see what we had in mind. He didn't return my one email in reply.

Has he looked on the pack of the 8 million Slinky label sold yearly? Slash, Clapton, Page, Angus, John Mayer, Luke, Petrucci, Metallica......pretty good company for a teenager with a self produced CD. He burned the bridge on a company that happens to own one of the top three selling branded products in the music business. To not afford me the courtesy of at least an interview is unprofessional and not a good first move for a first time manager.

THis is really an example of the music business up close and personal....maybe Ill post some shots of Tyler with Luke, Tyler with Albert, Tyler with Morse, Tyler with Rodney Crowell, Tyler with Taylor Hicks, Tyler with Bill Murray, TYler with Scott Hamilton, Tyler at the NAMM show on my nickel with the old photographer leading him around with a movie camera,Tyler on the stage at the Eric Clapton Crossroads festival again on my nickel......TYler with Huey Lewis....oh yeah tyler on the company plane with Steve Morse as the pilot.......Gratitude.

You already know how I feel on this topic as I posted on the closed thread in the guitar forum. I agree w/ you 100% BP. I thought his dad would have some sense and teach it to his son, but if you plant wheat you don't get corn, do you?

Please don't post any pics to give this guy any more publicity. You've got the same sized heart as my uncle, and people will step on it and try to crush it/take advantage of it. While it hurts, events like this do not harden people like you because being an honest, up front, open and caring guy (I could add a few dozen more characteristics as well) are intrinsic values to your being. Thanks for being who you are BP, I appreciate you, your company and all the values that characterize you.

In the spirit of the title of this thread, I wish to say that watching Luke's solo during "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" damn near made me weep. The passion that comes out of Luke borders on the otherworldly. He is a respected veteran of the rock music world; and any advice of his is something to be cherished and shouldn't be cast away heedlessly.

More Luke!

Actually I'd love to see those pics. I wouldn't expect it from a 16-year-old, but perhaps his dad (or parents?) might see these pics and realize what they turned away from and what they lost.
I would imagine that F*nder is a money-powerful company that is difficult to compete with. But being connected to company that feels like "family" is a rare blessing in this world. My company of employ was very "family" before we were assimilated by the Borg ~10 years ago.

Knucklehead calling Lucious!

I met Lucious at the concert in Hamburg on Wednesday! He's a very nice guy. My girlfriend and me were wearing printed shirts that read "Knucklehead calling Lucious!" and we were standing in the first to second row. During the keyboard solo passage he went off the stage to dry his sweat and chat with his tech. Suddenly he realized us and what was written on our shirts and came over to welcome us! He gave my girlfriend a hug and shook my hand! What an honour! After the show he signed the electronic backplates of my two EBMM Lukes. :D

So lucious, if you read this maybe you remember us. I would like to thank you for a great, great show with outstanding music. Keep on rockin' and keep an eye on your health so we can see you a lot more times on stage! :)

By the way, say thanks to Steve Weingart for the little chat we had and for being such a normal and humble person!

Thanks a lot lucious!

Been surfing in HI for the last 10 days...stunned to hear the news about Tyler...Maybe F***er will give him his own signature $199 Chinese Star***ter?!. I have a friend who has been working over there for some time now...to him it is just a J-O-B...NOT something he is proud to be working with/for...When I tell him about the vibe that BP and all the EBMM folks lay out, he looks at me like I am in dire need of a random drug test. Tyler is very talented, but as Luke so aptly stated "youth is wasted on the young" He'll learn soon enough that the folks at F***er will forget his name and face as soon as the next 10-year-old phenom comes along.

Lucious, glad to hear the tour is going so well...I can't wait for the U.S. dates..you are such an amazing musician, and amazingly normal? person...thanks for posting, and giving us knuckleheads even more reason to brag about our affiliation with EBMM.

I've sold at least one JP, and one or two Lukes to SWA F/Os who previously were considering Paul R**D Smiths. I had a long conversation yesterday to the Hawaiian Airlines Captain who flew me from Hilo to Honolulu about the benefits of MM ownership. (his "musician's friend" mag was open to a PRS page)
I, like many forumites, am always on the front lines, talking up the cool factor of being one email away from BP and his awesome staff. Thanks BP, not only for introducing me to so many of my favorite musicians, but also for being such a great person. Sorry for the creep... -Capt. Don

Gotta echo my sentiments on "The Truth" from ECT. I have not heard a more moving piece from Luke. It raises the hair on my neck and back every time I listen. THAT is what a truly great artist does through music.

Praying for an ECT tour date in DFW.....please!

LUKE in Blues Garage in Hannover, 10 of July 2008

Well...I was there! What an evening it was!! That has been one of the best shows I've ever seen in my life! Great setlist, fantastic sound, high and very positive energy on the stage, a lot of jamming, absolutely amazing musicans (Carlitos and Eric - you guys rules!!) and of course - LUKE.... I can't find proper words to describe his tone, playing, personality. LUKE is a MAN! We drove 750 km to see him and his band but believe me - it was worth!!!!
Greetings from POLAND to you, LUKE! It was very nice to have a small talk with you after the show (you promised to come to POLAND next year - remember?!). Thank you so much for a photo with you (me and my wife Monika are superhappy because of that!). You are such a kind guy... We wish you all the best in your solo career! We are waiting for you here in POLAND! See you!
And please - DO NOT EVER STOP PLAYING!
