My StingRay 5 is gone.

Very sorry to hear about your stolen bass ebmuscmanlvr83, I hope you get it back. Don't waist your time cultivating bad vibes for whomever took your instrument, it won't benefit you. If you ever get to meet them on the other hand... ;)

I think it should serve as a caution to everyone here to note their serial number, and as Aussie Mark has suggested, consider insurance. After reading this I am going to get my SR5 insured.

Sorry to hear that, stealing from a fellow musician is one of the worst things someone can do!
I hope the instrument will turn up, and you'll be re-united with it.

Man sorry to heard about that. It is truely the lowest of the low.
I have two basses here, 4 and 5, and am in the UK but if you need to borrow just ask!

I'm sorry to hear of this Travis.
If it doesn't turn up & you'd be interested
in a exc burnt apple SR5, PM me.
Hopefully you'll get her back.

Sorry this has happened to you Travis. We be one more watching out for it.

Travis, I'm so sorry that happened to you. Having something dear to you stolen always makes you have a little more distrust in your heart for your fellow man. That was a generous offer from Jack and I know he is sincere. If I had seen this last night I would have made the same offer. Let's all just hope that it turns up and is unharmed.

Yep travis you are in the bossom of love here.
We all feel for you and if there is anything anyone of us can do to help you just have to ask. Thats what brothers are for.
I dont think anyone will disagree.

I'm sorry to hear this too.

Assuming this was a room in the church, wouldn't they have a pretty good idea about who has access to the room? It sounds like it was only there unattended (by you) for @ 48 hrs.

If everyone else's instruments were also in the room and not taken, maybe the above search could be narrowed to folks who might have approached you about the bass in the past.

And if all else fails, I think Jack's got the right idea. I mean, who the heck steals something from a church!?! I'm not even religous and I find that appalling...

Also, don't forget to post this over on TB's stolen instrument section.

Thanks for all the kind words guys. Its a tough situation no matter how you look at it.

I have no idea how it vanished from the church and why no other instruments were taken. It sucks that my bass seems to have been singled out.

Mark, you are right. Ive been putting off insurance for a while, but all my gear is about to be insured. I wish I didnt have to learn that leeson by getting an amazing bass stolen.

If your drummer start getting new stuff, you'll know he pawned it!

Seriously, get it insured, even if it's alongisde the contents on your household policy.

Good luck, I'll keep them peeled for it, you never know.

It's hard to imagine, losing something that means so much...
Hey, chin up, I'm sure things will turn out all right in the end.
Best of luck, Travis.

Wow - can't say I've ever had the same experience, but I can imagine how it feels... :(

Hoping for better things to come!

Theives & liars -> Scum of the earth...

I am sorry this has happened, I haven't been a victim of this but I still don't have insurance on my gear and I should. Contact local pawn shops and intrument shops
and give the serial#. for what its worth.

I grieve with you.

Sorry to hear it, Travis, that sucks.

My experience is that it's worth putting effort into finding it - when a bunch of one of my band's gear was stolen, it took a month to track it down, but we did. Somebody eventually knew somebody who knew. Then we visited the perpetrator with 10 large guys and "requested" (and got ) it all back.

hope you find it!

This really sucks dude. And to have it stolen from a church of all places? Breaking one of the ten commandments in the house of God? That's a pathetic display of human indecency.

dude. I friggin have No Respect for theft of any kind. It doesn't matter if you steal a Car...or a little candy from a convenience store. Theft is wrong. I feel terrable that this would happen. But I can understand how they would want a beautiful bass such as yours. But theft is totally not the answer....and in a church...it doesn't get much lower than that.

 This really ticks me off!!! Hey Travis............

Your welcome to my Stingray 5 for as long as you need it. Only two years old and plays wonderfully. :)

FYI
It does have a rosewood fingerboard and not maple.
