So I pulled the trigger! I had been eyeing this head for a little while now. I bought this bad boy a local guitar shop named cherijons music. I've bought a couple of MM's from these guys they rock!! I don't have an orange cab just yet it's on order I got a black one ppc400HP can't wait for that sucker to come in! I just felt like sharing. I do have a 112 cab with a vintage 30 luckily I have a attenuator on that's sucker!!

Congrats on the killer amp!!!

How do you guys do it with high wattage amps? I play in a fairly loud band - my main gigging amps are a Mesa Electra-Dyne or Express 5:50 Plus. I barely get them past 2 (that is 2, not 2 oclock) on the master volume and I still get yelled at but the sound engineer for being too loud.

The Thunderverb 200 has an attenuator that easily allows you to drive the tubes while dialing in the amp the whatever volume is comfortable. Definitely an awesome feature. It's like having a hot plate built right into the amp!

I was able to use the attenuator on the 50 watt Thunderverb I had to get a great bedroom level sound, but ultimately I prefer a brighter/higher gain amp.

Orange certainly has its own sound. No doubt about it. It's a rowdy, full tonal spectrum tone machine. I personally love the character of the Orange sound but I understand too that different amps like Marshall and Mesa have a more refined characteristic. I do love though that Orange seems to have a knack for cutting through in a live mix. I have a Rockerverb 100 now that I love. Wouldn't trade it for the world. They're releasing white ones in April. I'm going to have to snag one and a 412!

High wattage amps are not much louder than low wattage amps. They just have more headroom.
