Was just reading what Dibart said and something sprang to mind. Back in the day, Vox used to test their amps by dropping them down a flight of stairs. It was shown on a documentary on Vox amps (which I still have- the documentary not the amp!!) and it was amazing to see the amp still working fine.

Also back in the day, when I used an AC 30 the handle "connectors" were made out of Mezzack (sp?) which was brittle. This decided to give way as the roadie was carrying it down a metal staircase. The inevitable happened.
My Dad (a jig and tool maker/air mechanic/electrician) made new ones up in solid steel. I passed a few of those around the AC30 owners of Cardiff!

So where are we:-
Contact GC straight away.
If you decide to keep it after compensation, get it checked out by a good amp tech.
If you want the name of a guy who makes the best custom cabinets around let me know - he ships o/seas.

Dibart has a point. Something could be wrong with it and not show for awhile. Thats what gc's amp repair tech( was referred to him by my local gc) explained to me. He strongly recommended returning it but also said the boutique amps he has seen were extremely well overbuilt. I am now thinking it may be returned. Also, I have not only called the gc I bought it from but also a few of my local gc's so they know what is going on with it. It's also documented from day one on this forum :)

It should've been boxed up better than it was.

Well we would always like to blame the shippers...

This is the usual suspect. Shippers recommend MINIMUM of 3" all the way around of impact absorbing packing material. I suspect that was not the case.

I'm actually surprised as FEW guitars get damaged as really do. IMHO, EBMM gets kind of lucky in shipping as the cases are not snuggly nestling the beautiful axes during shipping. And there is no packing material besides the HSC. Calculated risk I suppose. I've had only one damaged EBMM guitar out of the 25 or so I've shipped/received over the years.
