well, decided to skip out on the used market and go for something brand spanking new. Instead of hitting the boutique market like I was going too, I really had to think about my needs and the sound I wanted. After that it didn't make sense to spend 4k on a matchless or something like that. I helped out a friend at GC on saturday, They had 2 orange heads with the tags switched around, an ad30 and th30. Thats a $600 difference. The guy who bought it spent over $5k that day and I pointed it out to him while my friend wasn't in the amp room. The guy told me not to say anything...(fat chance dude, I pointe it out to him to see if he had the integrity to say anything himself) Anyways, while the guy and his friend where looking at LP's I pulled my friend over and pointed it out to him. At first he didn't believe me and I really had to convince him they were wrong. Had I not done that, That AD30 would have went out the store for the price of a TH30 and no one would have known. Because of that, he told his manager and they said to hook me up next time I buy something. Well, here it is. Its a freaking beast. so glad i decided to buy new. I almost missed that feeling of being the first person to open something and power it up for the first time:D

Congrats! Amps are my other weakness and I've had my eyes on that one. A review if you get a chance would be great!

the only thing that turned me off on the 50w was where they're manufactured. I know alot of people will say it doesn't
matter if it sounds good...but it matters to me. I just can't deal with that little tag saying "made in vietnam." Surprisingly even though the big boy is made in mexico it seems very well built(although I would definitely prefer it say "made in usa") It sounds freaking incredible. My friend convinced me to unbox it at gc so I obliged(figured I could dime it while I was there) I couldn't get the volume near halfway and it felt like my head was going to pop off. It is absolutely the amp I've been looking for. Will it end my gas, probably not as Im always looking. Seeing how it's brand new though it's a keeper.

Hey Roger Congrats.......
I have both Evh's the 50 watt with the same cab you have, and I also have the 100 watt head with the Evh 412. I've tried a lot of amps in my time and if you want to play Rock these amps are crazy. I have always used amp distortion and overdrive and these amps have it. I love them and have no plans to trade them anywhere.

I recently purchased a Friedman BE 100, so I need to wait a while before getting another amp. The 50W for a bedroom amp is incredible. When I get it I will also buy the matching 2x12 cab.

I was looking at friedman, but for me it just turned out to not make sense. At this point Im a bedroom rockstar and spending that kind of money would have been overkill. The EVH is a bit overkill but has a great master volume and sounds good at lower levels. Really glad I went with the 212 cab too. Jackson, you're right, these are rock monster!

Lessthan,
I have an EVH 5150 III 100 watt head with an EVH 4x12 cab sitting right next to my Egnater. Holy s*#^. It belongs to a friend, and it is incredible. You got a great amp. Too bad you don't have a pink EVH EBMM to play through it. Lol.
