Congrats - that's a gorgeous bass.

I think that I have reminded many a knucklehead that real men play bongo 4 H's Thanks thats a beauty....

I'm sure I've read this before and would never argue with the creator - but remember those of us with space for only one Bongo in our collection would be deprived of that killer 4 band EQ if we only had an H :p

I would love to try one though!

DrtStingray... Deprived is not the right word. I would say enhanced would be better. This from a formed Bongo 4HH, 5HSp and 4Hp owner. Give one a shot if you get a chance. JOSH

BP,

When I ordered my Bongo 4H Roasted neck, I originally almost went with the 4HH to match my Dargies Delight II Bongo but I remembered your recommendation about the 4H and order it that way to see the difference between the two. Both are great basses but it's hard for me to say which pickup configuration I like better. Both are great. My favorite is the Roasted neck though simply because it is not only a phenomenal bass but it is the best looking one I have too.

Congrats and welcome to the black sugar gang!!!

A Bongo 4 H is the only thing that might tempt me at the moment. Besides this I am GAS free at this point.

Keko - yes, its the 3 band EQ. This is my second Bongo 4H and I just love the tone. There is just something about them... it's got some serious mojo and makes me be a better bass player. For the pickguard, white pearloid would look great, I just like making it look different for each show. With a clear pickguard, I can do that pretty easily.

I used my new tone-beast last night at a gig. We normally play indoors at this place but they had us set up in the patio (it was a beautiful evening here in Colorado). For the first 2 songs I couldn't hear myself at all and couldn't figure out what was going on with the sound. I kept turning up my MB amp and checking the soundboard but it still sounded weak. I kept thinking it was because we were outside. Midway through the 3rd song, I realized the bass EQ knob on the Bongo was all the way down. Guess I had bumped it after soundcheck. When I brought the bass EQ knob up to the center detent, the thunder roared, the pint glasses rattled, the toes started tapping, a woman went into labor and a waitress winked at me. From there on, it was a joy to play and hear.

If you knuckleheads have never gotten your hands on a single H Bongo, find a way to do it. BP and the gang created something amazing with that configuration.

Told ya' you'd love the Roasted... :)

Much sweetness.... and it brings me joy that it has landed in great hands!

Don't forget Holdsg

Ditto to you! :) Enjoy the heck out of it!

I did a gig Tuesday evening and the sound guys said he'd never seen a bass like mine before. After the set, he couldn't stop asking me how I got such a rich tone. He thought I had a stomp box in the signal chain. Nope, just a lovely 3 band eq and some flats... I love this thing!
