I think that we coexist and compliment Lakland as we are in different price point but with G & L I dont think that it is as good of a fit.

I can see this point of view, but strictly as a consumer, I think it's a shame non the less. I have no personal knowledge of G & L products but I percieve them to be decent. It's nice to have some many options at one place. Also, a lot of trading/selling stuff goes on and it's great that there is such a large variety of basses changing hands. I feel real bad for the regulars of the G & L forum. They're just as rabid bout their favorite brand as the EBMM nutz. And some people also feel a loyalty to the Fender/MM/G&L continuum.

As I was telling Jack recently, I've never bought a brand-new EB bass until last year. Now I have one and another on order. It's all because the company is coming out with really great products that are engineered and created for a bassist and I can't get anything like them anywhere else.

I'll tell you what...this L-1K I got from Harry and later sold to Scotty was one of the finest basses I've ever played.

Guess what model they haven't made for years...

Ok, I'm over it...good thing I'm still feeling the Valium from my MRI today is all I can say. I just told the G&L kooks on the Pit they were moving back down to the basement under the Gibson freaks.

Where's Darge been anyway??? Ship em out and ding the card as usual...last two Buttercreams please.

Their forum sucks as it's in a very old "string" format like early forums and it's 90% guitar related not bass. I don't think it's even a corporate owned forum but rather run by a 3rd party just as the Fender Forum (FDP) is run by Chris Greene and not Fender corporate.

Oh, the EB Forum at the Pit was much more popular before this joint came along.

Now we have to split the market....and the ubiquitous presence of this BP guy might have some influence over here.

Just a guess.

Hell, it could be me, right? RIGHT?

It's not me...it's largly due to the suckiness of bass discussion on the other forum so my G&L forum has become home to all the G&L basshounds....go figure??

It's just very frustrating for me that after all these years that the internet is looked down upon in the retail community when it is clearly the way of the future.

Dude.. just calm down and enjoy your lead.

After crunching the numbers, we learned that over 30% of our business in 2005 originated from our web site.

I expect we'll exceed 50% in 2006.

I just ordered a new circuit for our primary internet connection. Twice the bandwidith of a T1 (3 Megabit) and more available if I need it. I ought to have it up and running within the next 3 weeks or so.. as long as the provisioning is on schedule.

This is a straight Ethernet connection to my upstream provider. The only equipment I need on my end is a box that functions as an Ethernet handoff point. Great new technology. The price is actually less than my T1, also!

I love this stuff! It's like the inside stuff that only the very hip know about.

When the owner, CEO of a company joins with the common customer, to inlight or just joke around is very cool in my book, and BP your thread about my Bongo really made my day.

I've been running a one person hospital here at my house, one of the toughest jobs I've ever done. My Mom is my biggest fan, she supported my music before and above anyone else, and now I'm loosing my biggest fan.

I haven't had much time to play bass lately, but I've sure thought about basses and I'm thinking Radiance Red Bongo a lot right now. But my ButterCream lefty LE Bongo on the way will be called "Jewel" after my Mom, she always liked "off white". :D

.... God that sounded sappy, but it's true, so....
