They're just gutless turds.

Before Youtube they were the one's crying to mummy because they got picked on at school (or work) - for valid reasons.

But now, with the net - they can have as much attitude as they want and be as tough as they want to be.....

y'know real man-like and all.........

But of course, there are no consequences.

Gutless.

Easy, Pop.

When you re at the top, there will always be a million of them, invisible, pointin fingers at you. Why botha? Do what you do best, stay true to yourself, live with no regrets, and you are okay.Taking aback with these shallow comments will simply waste your precious time away. Oh no - I just took away 2 min of your life.

Yeah but what if there were? That could be a real great horror movie

Yapp...that would be it. Commenting would automatically reveal the real addresses and phone numbers of the poster to the people shown in the vid ;) How many comments would be in there then? :D

Comments and opinions are like asses. Everyone has one.

If everyone lived by the simple rule of be kind, constructive and never write something you wouldn't say to someone in person, I think most blogs and forums would be a better.

I try very hard not to read comments at music news sites because a lot of times they are just filled with snark and hate. I guess being anonymous makes people feel that they have the right to say anything they want about anyone.

Keyboard courage.

BP-- Great topic!

Kimonostereo -- Man, you summed it up!

YouTube is really killing the future younger bands.... I met with a band, mid 20's, and they did not feel that they had to play out (gig) !! I was floored.... In their opinion, as long as their MySpace account was updated and YouTube had home-made videos of them playing in the basement, they were golden and were going to be signed to a record deal.

Yes, you all read that correctly.

I occasionally watch Cricket videos on YouTube.....the comments there are so vile (language, racist content) that they make music comments look like love letters. Why not just abandon comments & have 2 buttons
1. I like this
2. You suck
I'm too scared to be offensive.....plus I'm so boring my "alias" is generally my real name

I'll go one further, how about just "I like this". No need for the You suck / hate. If no one clicks on "I like this" then you know.

We do this on our website. If ya like it, click, if not, don't.

If the angst that my screen has copped on the odd occasssion is anything to go by, then yes, you're right :D

Just imagine a perfect world, where you could reach down the screen, grab the whinging turd by the throat and pull them into a dedicated SAW-type room with no exit.

EDIT : Hang on, did I just type that aloud ?? :D

they should disable comments from youtube in its entirity.

a lot of users are starting to disable comments anyway, having "comments disabled" has very few negative repercussions
I disable mine because I don't have the time to deal with the hassles
