I'm just glad to see he still wants to play.

This is a guy who had cancer therapy, hip replacement, and saw his marriage break up in the last few years. Correct me if I'm wrong here.

Speaking as a fan from way back in '79, I'm looking forward to seeing them twice in august. But I have to admit I'm stunned not one song from their landmark album 1984 made the setlist.

What's up with that? (or maybe JUMP is on the list)

Jump was on the list...

I mean I love VH, don't get me wrong but Ed looks sooooo unhealthy. Like even tho' he had all those issues, he really doesn't care to take care of himself, tho' he hadn't looked well in the years previous to these pics either...

It's like getting a second chance and not caring about yourself enough to make sure you make the most of it. like having the type of cancer he did most likely caused from cig smoking, and then smoking cigs again. I'd just like to see Ed look a bit healthier, thats all. :)

Yeah, saw that...he's been on the kick with that pickup since Me Wise Magic.

He has GOT to pull that hair down...he's my boy and all, and you have no idea how many levels of excited I've crossed to see him back in action (last count was 243), but he looks like a damn turnip with that hairstyle!

Put it down and shake it around, bro... :)

Anyone know if he lost all his hair while undergoing cancer treatment?

First thing I thought of when I saw ed's doo is when you buy carrots at the market and the bagger asks if you want the tops taken off? Then he just twists and pulls:p

PS Maybe he'll hit the ALL-YOU-CAN-KEEP-DOWN buffett line when the show makes it to vegas:D

Anyone else think their best album start to finish is 1984? or am i missing something?

Yeah, Keith -- we'll treat him! I got a few places that I could run the boy here in Phoenix as well, but I tell ya...some of 'em will have 'em playing some notes you DON'T wanna hear! ;)

As far as his do, hair loss shouldn't be an issue...dude has long hair in all of the pics of recent (and some pics before that that I've seen), including the attached. I just want to see him drop it and rock out!

You obviously haven't seen Steve Howe lately :p

Hey anybody notice the Fernandes Sustainer in Ed's axe?

Steve Howe looks strangely similar to Mr Burns...but tore it up on the Yes tour this year.
BTW, whats with Ed's 'rooster' cut?

Mincer, it's just his hair pulled up into a tail/wrap/something absolutely scary.

OMG, I just had a "revelation"...with that nifty little style he has now, he could be referred to as "Carrot Top".

How sad. ;)

Did Ed lose his teeth when he had that cancer treatment? It looks like that in one of the pictures in the second set.

Yeah he does look like he has been doing the Iggy Pop workout video.

Wolfgang should share some of his extra poundage w/ dad. Personally I think Ed should get a haircut and maybe bring back the conquistador goatee. Long hair looks downright frightening once some people reach a certain age. If he likes it long, braid it. I think a full beard on him would do wonders. Also, did Ed lose his teeth? He seems, like others have said, to not be taking care of himself, and also seems to be lost---in a no mans land. It's really sad, but I hope this reunion alllows him to recupe. (A person at the rehersal saw his water bottles being filled up off stage w/ wine so I don't know if thats any good news; and he seemed disoriented during/after the show.)

I have a corroboration on the wine story from NAMM 2 years ago. My buddy was out there for work and said that it took Ed about 2 hours past sched to make an appearance and he wouldn't go down before downing like 3 bottles of wine. When he made the apearance he was pretty short with everyone and then left abruptly.

Yeah, I remember that too. In the new Guitar World mag, Ed says he's been in therapy for the past 13 years. How can you do that, then get totally sh** faced everyday? Sounds like his therapist is really The_rapist. Or maybe Ed doesn't really want to help himself and is just fooling himself instead.
