Question New L3?

If they change pickups, this will be the third pickup change for the LIII. I'm still sad that the pickup ears are square instead of triangle shaped. I know it's a "Dimarzio" thing, but it gave the EBMM stuff a specific look and it was a nice touch.

So if Mules, they do look unfinished (which would be cool) any update in changing body wood?

SSS looks Mahogany, HH looks Okoume.

Dont know the story with moving away from Alder/Ash.

I have'nt gone back to check CITS to see which tone woods are still restricted.
I thought they ruled CITES didn’t apply to musical instruments back in 2020 and the only real remaining tonewood restriction is Brazilian rosewood

If you ask me I personally don’t like that unfinished look. I hope it’s a prototype and EBMM will surprise us with their typical impressive finish.
BTW I do not think you can tell apart mahogany and okoume in that video :-) Assuming it matters for the sound. but we should not do the tonewood discussion ;)

CITES exemption is for FINISHED musical instruments and parts made from most rosewood species, except Brazilian rosewood. This means musicians can freely travel, and buy/sell finished guitars and parts, across international borders. And I think that means EBMM still have their own CITES paperwork to do for for any restricted wood species they import to use in the factory but not for the finished guitars or guitar parts.

Ash is becoming harder to get/more expensive so you will likely see less of it on guitar bodies. I know Fender moved away from using it on most anything but the vintage reissues in which its the accurate wood type.

So maybe its a little clearer, new Luke model with HT pickups. Maybe I missed it, do we know pickup specs for HT pickups?

I watched some videos with sound clips of HT pickups. They sound more active in HiFi sense, so looks like the maestro is may be going back to that refined sound of L2 :)

Well this years NAMM show is April 13-15, so chances are we'll know by then. EBMM usually announces their new stuff during NAMM, let's see if they hold true.

Adder that Luscious Green isn't it?

Interesting... Luke is drinking again? (note the Heineken in his mic stand)...

Maybe it's just the lights, but the frets on those new guitars look bigger... which would make me pull the trigger immediately... the small frets are one of the reasons I don't own a Luke yet; I'm a medium-to-jumbo fret guy.

Hey Keith, I did see a Grapes HH #25 on my FB Marketplace feed this AM.

RBG - I did see that post. Was hoping for the natural finish. I have too many red guitars. Didn't a JP come in all mahogany finish?
