I have a question about these sterling CA 34's if i may? Does anyone know if they take a standard stingray pickguard, or if you wanted a replacement would it have to be custom cut?
Cheers all, hope to be back in the fold soon

I think it uses a regular SR pickguard.

Hi all, I have a Sterling Ray34 CA, absolutely love it! ......except for the lack of contouring at the wrist which I find a bit uncomfortable.

Is there another model with contouring as everything else about I love, particularly the 38mm nut width.

Many thanks :)

Holy Dead Thread Revival!

First off, welcome ElleDee.
The only other model that we make with the 38mm nut and contoured body is in our entry level priced SUB Series Model Ray4.

If you have any other questions, just ask!

Thanks :) lol yes it is an old thread!!...... I googled the model and this forum and thread came up.

Ah thats a shame, do you think i will get used to the lack of arm contour? as I love everything else about this bass - and in particular the sound is awesome!!

I've had numerous "slab" bodied Music Man basses, including a Ray34ca, which is a mighty fine bass. Lack of contour never really even seemed like a thing to me.

Standing and playing, I notice it less. You will get use to it or break out a belt sander.

It certainly is a mighty fine bass!

Cool! I've got two gigs this weekend, hopefully I won't notice it and I'll forget about it!! at the moment it's bugging me slightly as I'm not used to it.

Well I did my 2 gigs this weekend and I didn't even notice the lack of contour! The weight was not an issue either ....... although today my shoulder ached after 20 minutes... hopefully this was just an after effect of the weekend and I will get stronger? I have a neotech megabass strap which helps reduce the weight anyway. The bass sounded awesome I'm so pleased with it!
