New Mystic Dream BFR JP??

New colour it looks like, similar to Mystic Dream, but without the purple.

One of the colors in that looked like Olive Gold, but it switched to this orange-red shade that was killer.

And it looked like a standard JP, but with a BFR rosewood neck.

I agree with adamrogo...it looks more like a BFR (longer/thinner lower horn and no arm cut).

I think it looks like a BFR as well, and at first I thought it looked like a rosewood neck, but there are a couple of shot towards the end of this video that look like the black painted mahogany neck, so I guess I have no clue.

Edit:Certainly looks like rosewood to me now.

Maybe it's a one-off. Looks like a BFR body, but with an opaque finish and definitely a rosewood neck. The forearm contour isn't like an original now that it's been pointed out.

The color is really cool. Looks like olive gold at some angles and like orange firemist at others, then even radiance red or candy red at others.

Couldn't possibly be his Dargie BFR that he played on "Enemies" for shows in 2008? Maybe it's just showing strange color reflections from lights?

EDIT: Has his JP shield at 1st fret, so I guess I'm wrong.

From the "I am an adult with too much time on my hands category", I just noticed in the video below at 5:55-5:57 when Petrucci turns around, the back of the neck appears to be painted the same color as the body and not rosewood.

When's your meet and greet bkrumme? My wife bought me front row center tickets for the Boston show, but not from the meet and greet package. The M&G sounds pretty cool though.

I'm holding out for Cleveland. They haven't announced it yet, but they haven't skipped Cleveland in years. Unless they decide to come to Cincinnati for the first time since 2000...

It's some new type of color changing paint, and I like it.

For PN2009 they are. Do you honestly think they're only going to tour in NA for 2 months? Not trying to argue but that's just silly. I saw them twice for Systematic Chaos. Both times it was Cleveland. Plus...the new album isn't out yet. They'll do the rest of their current leg in Europe then come to NA, go back to Europe and then we'll see more dates...if not sooner. There's almost a month between the last NA date and their next one in Europe.

October, when I'll be back from Korea by then! Their currently scheduled SoCal date is 1 day before I get back. Killer! LOL

I went to DT's "Evening With" during the end of their Octavarium tour. Dinner and drinks the whole night through. Killer!

Man, we got off track with this one. I still wanna know what color that guitar is. And if we don't find out before the Meet & Greet I go to, then I'll take the video and ask JP.

It's weird. In one shot, the back of the headstock looked like natural rosewood. Then there's the shot that looks like the entire back of the neck is painted.

The body is definitely a BFR body, but solid painted.
The color is really cool, maybe a Mystic Dream without the blue in it? That would make sense. Instead of going from an Aqua color to Purplish, it goes from Green to Red...

I assume the Mystic Dream paint is done with Dupont Chromolusion paint? They have a color called Mystic Purpleen which I figure is the Mystic Dream color. If that's correct here's a list of the available colors. It appears that depending on how it's applied and the color of the base coat you can get more variation within the colors. Maybe it's one of these.

At $822 a quart, you can see why there is an upcharge for the MD color. I was thinking of using some in the baby room I'm painting, but there's no way I can spend that much on paint. I'd love to see what that Black Jade looks like.

In some of the other YouTube videos from that show you can see the neck also changes to a copper color. I think it's that copper color mixed with the lighting and video quality that give it a rosewood look in some of the shots.
