With 46 years playing time I have bought my first Music Man bass. Sterling 5 Ball Family Reserve. Gold with a rosewood fingerboard and neck. I honestly do not know how many basses I have owned through the years, but this may very well be the best bass I have ever owned. :D

Now I have owned a OLP and a Ray35, but both of these were cheaply made MM knock-offs - so bad they almost kept me from buying a 'real' MM. I also bought an old 4 string (82 i think) just to resale. It was nice.

Anyway, without naming other brands (and there has been some that cost even more) - it is possible I may have bought my last bass. Build quality, tone, craftsmanship, hardware, this bass has it all. And what a joy to play. I played it for three hours straight the day I opened it up.

I came very close to snagging that one off of Ebay. My closest GC has one exactly like it as well. Been on the wall for a couple of years now.

Very nice bass, congratulations! A Sterling was my first Music Man bass too. I also thought it would be my last high end bass but then I started playing all of the other models and acquired some major gas. Now all I need is a Reflex and Big Al to own at least 1 of every type of EBMM bass model.

So YOU'RE the lucky SOB who wound up with that! Congratulations. It took a massive amount of will power to avoid snagging it for myself.

You're doomed now. Welcome to the ranks of the few, the proud, the weird..... the Knuckleheads.

Yeah, Knuckleheads. They even put signs out for us at fancy hotels occasionally.

Nice bass. So what's the next EBMM going to be?

To my fellow Canuckleheads, there is a sterling 5 HH in the same finish and neck at Cosmo Music in Richmond Hill. I played it the other day, quite nice!

Congrats Bassman!
