With 46 years playing time I have bought my first Music Man bass. Sterling 5 Ball Family Reserve. Gold with a rosewood fingerboard and neck. I honestly do not know how many basses I have owned through the years, but this may very well be the best bass I have ever owned.
Now I have owned a OLP and a Ray35, but both of these were cheaply made MM knock-offs - so bad they almost kept me from buying a 'real' MM. I also bought an old 4 string (82 i think) just to resale. It was nice.
Anyway, without naming other brands (and there has been some that cost even more) - it is possible I may have bought my last bass. Build quality, tone, craftsmanship, hardware, this bass has it all. And what a joy to play. I played it for three hours straight the day I opened it up.
