Wow... nice offering!! I wonder how much the mahogany will add to the weight? I'd love to have one, but (my luck) I'd probably end up with a 12 pounder.

The mahogany they use is pretty lightweight, my HH Bongo 4 string is 8.9 lbs. I've had plenty of basswood bodied Bongo 4s that weighed more than that.

+1. The Reflex 4HSS mahogany PDN I just picked up weighs a hair under 9 lbs.

You had me until I saw that figuring for the neck is "luck of the draw." :/ Pass.

Yes, fretless is an option with pao ferro finger board., lined or unlined!

Thanks, Pete.
I thought that might be the case.
I figured the only options for fretless would be a roasted maple board or pao ferro but I don't know how well the maple would hold up without frets. I think it would look fantastic but the functionality might not be so good.

You'll have to get it from a dealer in Mexico. PM me your contact information and we'll put you in touch with a store that can help you out.

just tried out a pdn honey burst stingray with the mahogany body and roasted neck. and it sounded amazing! whas the same price as the Neptune blue. and although the honey burst was very nice, it looked a bit too plain for me. so I ordered me a Neptune blue one with slo special neck and HH pickups! can't wait!

Can you describe what is the real sound difference between basswood and mahogany Bongo?

OK who are (is) the premier dealer for Canada?

Last I checked with Long & McQuade they wouldn't even return emails in regards to PDN questions. Does anyone else in Canada serve as a PDN?

When I ordered my PDN last year I went through Long & McQuade - but I called them on the phone to discuss it. I think they're not necessarily on top of the availability of these PDN models so you may have to inform them of the fact that it's available. Also, they seemed to need to contact their buyer in Toronto to facilitate the purchase so...give them a call and let them know what you want. They should be able to help you.

Long & McQuade can definitely get these. If the rep you are dealing with has any questions have them call us here at the factory and we can get them all the information they need to fill your order.
