new Stingray

I got my brand new Stingray today (natural body, rosewood neck, black pickguard, 2EQ controls), and I was wondering when it was build, the serial number is E00745.

That bass was sold as "new" last week (to Dees). Is it possible that this particular bass has been sitting around some store for all this time?

that's prety weird I'm sure it's not a used bass though.

It is very possible that this is a brand new bass and has been in a store or warehouse for the last 5 years. It was intially sold to our distributor in the Netherlands. New old Stock! If you bought from a MM dealer brand new then the Warranty would apply. Please check with your local store for details.
