Hey everyone,
I'd like to introduce myself to you all. I apologize in advance if I am long winded, I have a tendency to open up a bit when starting in a new community, so please bear with me.
I started playing when I was 14 years old. I had played for 10 years or so when I was forced to sell my equipment due to financial issues/hard times. Just a few short months ago, 11 years after I quit, I was able to buy new gear and start playing again. I had an unfortunate accident which has left me partially disabled for life, that is what led me to pick up the guitar again. Playing was always a huge outlet for me when I was younger, so I decided to start playing again for just that reason. I use it as an emotional outlet and for getting my creative side moving again.
I started out this time with my old standby, Ibanez
I used them exclusively when I first learned, so I figured I would go back to them. After having a really beautiful Ibanez for a short time, I decided that they just weren't for me anymore. I returned it and went with an ESP Eclipse II, which I really loved. I was happy with it, but it isn't that versatile and this time I'd like to learn and branch out to many different styles of music. I decided I would grab another guitar which would fill a different role then my ESP does.
After much deliberation and research, I decided to go with an EBMM Axis SS. I was expecting a good, well built instrument for the price that I paid. What I got was an amazing instrument that plays like a dream. The first time I picked it up, it floored me. The neck was gorgeous and plays so smoothly and quickly, I instantly fell in love and forgot I even owned an ESP. I had never played or held a guitar that felt so natural to me before. Everything about it just talks to me, and I can't express how happy it makes me when I am playing.
When you have that kind of experience with a certain type/brand of guitar, others just seem...bland. So my ESP went up onto the chopping block, I am selling it to fund another purchase I just made....a mint 2007 JP6 in Radiance Red with a piezo, a D-Sonic and dot inlays. I am really looking forward to it arriving so that I have another beautiful EBMM guitar to play.
It amazes me that in just a week I have switched from ESP, which sort of made me happy, to wanting to be EBMM exclusive, which makes me grin like an idiot. I have found my home and my favorite guitars and I am happy that there is a place for me to come and talk to others who share the same passion I do about them. Even though I have only owned one for a week, I have the bug now...and we all know what that leads to
Thanks for reading, sorry if I rambled, I am just really happy to have found a guitar that truly feels like an extension of myself. Here are a couple of pictures of my baby
And here's my cat looking at my Axis like it's his sworn enemy :
