Hey everyone,

I'd like to introduce myself to you all. I apologize in advance if I am long winded, I have a tendency to open up a bit when starting in a new community, so please bear with me.

I started playing when I was 14 years old. I had played for 10 years or so when I was forced to sell my equipment due to financial issues/hard times. Just a few short months ago, 11 years after I quit, I was able to buy new gear and start playing again. I had an unfortunate accident which has left me partially disabled for life, that is what led me to pick up the guitar again. Playing was always a huge outlet for me when I was younger, so I decided to start playing again for just that reason. I use it as an emotional outlet and for getting my creative side moving again.

I started out this time with my old standby, Ibanez :) I used them exclusively when I first learned, so I figured I would go back to them. After having a really beautiful Ibanez for a short time, I decided that they just weren't for me anymore. I returned it and went with an ESP Eclipse II, which I really loved. I was happy with it, but it isn't that versatile and this time I'd like to learn and branch out to many different styles of music. I decided I would grab another guitar which would fill a different role then my ESP does.

After much deliberation and research, I decided to go with an EBMM Axis SS. I was expecting a good, well built instrument for the price that I paid. What I got was an amazing instrument that plays like a dream. The first time I picked it up, it floored me. The neck was gorgeous and plays so smoothly and quickly, I instantly fell in love and forgot I even owned an ESP. I had never played or held a guitar that felt so natural to me before. Everything about it just talks to me, and I can't express how happy it makes me when I am playing.

When you have that kind of experience with a certain type/brand of guitar, others just seem...bland. So my ESP went up onto the chopping block, I am selling it to fund another purchase I just made....a mint 2007 JP6 in Radiance Red with a piezo, a D-Sonic and dot inlays. I am really looking forward to it arriving so that I have another beautiful EBMM guitar to play.

It amazes me that in just a week I have switched from ESP, which sort of made me happy, to wanting to be EBMM exclusive, which makes me grin like an idiot. I have found my home and my favorite guitars and I am happy that there is a place for me to come and talk to others who share the same passion I do about them. Even though I have only owned one for a week, I have the bug now...and we all know what that leads to :)

Thanks for reading, sorry if I rambled, I am just really happy to have found a guitar that truly feels like an extension of myself. Here are a couple of pictures of my baby :)

hi Clone, welcome to the family and as one of our members Koogie would say "Welcome to the Addiction"

That's a great story. Once people play a music man, everything just seems pointless. I know how you feel!

Your reaction to you Super Sport and the one I had when I got mine are pretty similar. I bought mine without playing one in advance and I was floored how great the neck felt and the tonal range...it's a classic axe and I'm never selling mine.

Yours is a beauty...I think this will be the first of many...enjoy!

Welcome - and that's a super nice ASS you have there..

Thanks for the warm welcome guys, I appreciate it. The guitar really did take me by surprise, I certainly wasn't expecting what I got. I was so impressed that I wouldn't shut up about it, my wife eventually had to yell at me to shut up because I just kept blabbering on and on about how unbelievable it was that the Axis was so good. It really does feel like it's worth a hell of a lot more then the price.

Also, the abbreviation for the Axis Super Sport kills me. The fact that a guy can mosey on up and tell me that I have a nice ASS makes me laugh for real, then my co-workers stare at me all weird since I'm in a separate office from them and they can't see what I'm looking at!

Thanks for the laugh, I needed it today. I have bronchitis with a side of ear infections but have to work anyway, so it's been a rough one so far :)

Thanks again for such a great welcome, I think I will enjoy it here. The fact that BP and others from the company post here regularly is amazing. Having that sort of connection to a company shows just how much they care about the instrument we all hold in our hands.

Thanks again for the warm welcome everyone. I know I'm now involved in a great company and community when someone as high caliber as BP comes into some unknown guys thread and says hello :D

It makes me feel all special and tingly....or that could be some bad clams I ate earlier...50/50 shot, take your pick. :p
